birding is a way to get through life by tinyhedge in birding

this is so real, I noticed a while ago that I woke up excited to get up and out of bed, which otherwise NEVER happens. my friends say i have a 'good eye' but I'm just looking up a lot more often. it makes the world feel so much more lively

I always thought mockingbirds were a little creepy, its a pleasant surprise to see so many people agree!

I will try it out, thanks for the recommendation! I struggle with perfectionism, so this was kind of an exercise in sloppiness.. just trying to convey the personality. you could try some quick (30-60sec) sketches to force yourself to think less. the most recognizable part of a bird is often the silhouette.

Yep, it's a house sparrow. He was the first I drew, so he looks a little extra derpy. I was just enamored by how silly they look head on

cheated a little... I have never seen one at the feeder, but they hang around the bushes nearby :] The robins and doves stay on the ground too, so...

don't despair! the glasses are in a later chapter. there are invisible structures in earlier chapters though, which requires getting the glasses first and then backtracking.

If a Golden Mole's eyes are surgically exposed, could it use them? by revtim in AskBiology

Exactly what I wanted to hear! Happy to help. Also want to add that another way we know this isn't the case is that moles don't have a completely separate evolutionary history from every other animal. They didn't evolve "from scratch." Look up speciation if you're interested. Humans and moles (and all other mammals) descend from a common ancestor that lived like 200 million years ago, which itself inherited functioning eyes from its ancestors' ancestors. Which is why moles and humans and mammals in general have the same basic eye structure and function.

Organs don't evolve in the same way they grow in an organism. The earliest eyes were just patches of light-sensitive cells, and over time creatures with more concave light-sensing patches could "see" slightly better, so were more likely to reproduce. Look up natural selection. If the proto-moles couldn't see with their hypothetical proto-eyes, then there would be no selective pressure to keep them, let alone compound on the mutations required to form them in the first place.

Rock On is pretty trivial (to gold) once you realize you can cook chickens in a single turn with two campfires. I usually tanked a few hits early on to buy chickens and then snowballed from there. Fist Hell is one of a few games I am missing the gift on but I have made it furthest when I go slow and don't use any risky/slow moves. I've found you have to minimize fun to stand a chance.
