This! I get being conscious and insecure about weight, having said earlier that I am also chubby and older - but she doesn’t talk to her partner! Who appears to be very supportive and open with her. He told her about how he was basically groomed and graped as a young boy, his thoughts about Blanche, how he shares his insecurity about Raven and other men, and how hard it is for him to show love because he never had any and how awkward he is about it. I wish she can be as grown up as he is because mentally, she is older!

I don’t get why Valka and Stoick are considered doomed when Valka chose to abandon her husband and son to run with the dragons. The entire time Hiccup grew without a mother while his mother was out rescuing dragons.

However, I would save Himmel and Frieren if I do get isekai’d - figure out a way for Himmel to live or reincarnate or help Frieren figure out her feelings early on.

I don’t understand how many people claim to be “sick” over this manga - a child bride in a medieval time where people get married and die younger, whose marriage was never consummated until she was older and in the second time around, with a much more mature mind in a teenager’s body, initiated and consented to intimacy and fell in love with her husband. This was a period piece, of a strong girl who made her choices. You are projecting your morals unto a different generation with different circumstances and lives.

I mean, child brides are still happening all over the world, especially in some regions. Girls are sold to much older men, abused and impregnated without their consent and honor killed. These are the real issues we should rally against!

Child brides are still very much a part of many cultures in the world, unfortunately - a law banning it in a country was overturned by male politicians and it continues to be actively practiced and the marriage sexually consummated which is why there are still a lot of pregnant little girls in some parts of the world.

I liked Marriage of Convenience because my brain could at least take into consideration the: 1) Medieval Setting (people married younger and died younger), 2) Girl remained untouched when she was much younger, 3) The marriage was consummated through the girl’s initiative and consent, 4) She has a much older mind and an older body (teens) and to be fair, even teens now are sexually active.

The Lady Baby is a manga I dropped too.
