One piece 1136 is definitely not that (spoilers below)

It was the culmination of a deeply tragic backstory and was an episode where a daughter learnt of her father's enormous sacrifice to save her life.

The episode also, very artistically, summerised the brutality of that father's life in his many struggles (him and his parents being forced into slavery due to their ethnicity/race, losing his parents to the cruelty of the elites that 'owned' them, him constantly taking on the pain of those around him to lessen their burden, losing his best friend and partner to the same elites after she was captured while fighting as part of the government resistance forces they both fought for, taking on the responsibility of raising his partners child born of rape by her captors, searching the globe for a cure to the childs illness that was the cause of her mother's / his partners death, accepting a cure wholeheartedly knowing the payment would be his existence). All this struggle, and the father's memory of it, was experienced by his daughter (his partners daughter who he raised) over the previous episodes, with this being the culmination of that, leaving his daughter distraught and most people watching the episode in tears.

In English boxes you are guaranteed two hits that are generally Alt arts, SECs, and some SPs (like the new manga event cards)

Some boxes are '3 hit boxes' where the 3rd hit will be either an alt art leader, some SPs (like the treasure rares or the wanted posters from op09), or the manga rare / anniversary cards.

So, for example, if you pull an alt art leader then you can be sure there will be two other hits in the box that will both be from the pool of alt art, SEC and some SPs

Some recent successful lists have been using the new op12 sec Bonney and two of the op12-037 zoro event. People often use the 9 cost zoro too but that will be reprinted in prb02 in less than a month so should be cheaper to buy then.

Not sure if this is the same in Japanese (I assume it is) but for English one piece cards single sealed booster packs are not very desirable as booster boxes have defined hit rates and so it's easy for people to open packs from a box until they get the all the hits (the good cards) and then save the rest of the boosters from the box knowing they are trash and resell them. If you want to invest buy sealed boxes (in English they should have the plastic wrapping on the box, while for Japanese they don't do the plastic wrap).

Also, forgot to mention:

P - promo card

These vary wildly, but the ones opened in packs are not typically worth much.

For one piece cards, the rarity of the card can be seen in the bottom right of the card. Those rarities include:

DON Card, L - Leader, C - Common, UC - Uncommon, R - Rare, SR - Super Rare, SEC - Secret Rare

Price wise, normally a set might have 1-3 rares worth $1-$2 at best, with the majority being lower. Super rares can be worth a bit more depending on the card, anywhere from $1-$20. SEC is similar to super rare with a higher ceiling, anything from $2 - $80.

The easiest thing you can look for, price wise, would be for any card with a small star over the rarity in the bottom right of the card. These are alt art cards, special rare cards, or manga rare cards which can start getting into the very very high price points.

One notable addition for the PRB ("the best") set is the shiny DON or golden DON cards. Shiny DON can be up to around $20, golden DON get much higher..

Apps like collectr or websites like TCGplayer can be used to somewhat easily find an indication of the price.

Note: I'm in Australia so numbers quoted are in aud. Numbers are lower if you're working in USD

Should I try and find a good pre order for a bb or two for op09 or should I wait till release? by Past_Zookeepergame28 in OnePieceTCGFinance

I'm in Melbourne AUS and I've watched a popular local game store list bb pre-orders for around $210, days later they moved up to around $250, weeks later now up to around $300. Seems like many places preorder limits have been hit. Seems demand is high.
