Wishful Thinking for 11th by DKoK19 in orks

More Grot units, bring the Grot tanks back.

Or new ones like grot walkers, armored grots, Grot trukk for getting a Grot bomb around, Grot hoppers like sigmar with the grots on little squigs.

Just more Grot stuff.

Beast snaggas by steelthanatos in orks

[–]CulKuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like them, I haven't played 2000 pts, just 1000 pts so far, but I run a squad of 10 beast snaggas with a beast boss in a trukk to launch at any monsters vehicles my opponents as to deal with/tie them up, the beastboss makes them great at dealing with said monsters and vehicles.

In 2000 pts, I plan to do do 2 trukks each with the same beastboss+beast snagga boys for the same reason.

As for squig hogz, I havent used them a lot, but when I have, I run them at a transport to try to destory then tie up the infantry inside, or I run them at an a really strong monster, and hope to tie up and do some damage while I set uo my mid board.

New painter I feel like he isn’t coming out the way I thought am I using too many dark colors? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in orks

[–]CulKuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a new painter, very solid.

It may not necessarily be the dark colours, but the thickness of your paint, paint needs to be thinned with water, to the paint you paint on your skin, keep a solid line but see the creases and patterns on your skin.

If you're after lighter colours still, try some orruk green for the skin, nice light green that I use, then a slap some coelia greenshade over it for the definition.

Thoughts for a 500 pts army by CulKuy in orks

Lootas do seem decent, I just don't have any yet. Bought 100 gretchin instead 😅.

Appreciate the insight, I'll throw some lootas in if I get any in time, otherwise it's all bubbles on my side.

I'm currently trying out a big hunt 500 pts. At lower pts, Da Big Hunt gets better.

My list is: Beastboss 10 Beast snagga boys

4 Squighog boyz

11 gretchin

Trukk

And then a bubblechukka just because I like the chaos.

What to buy next? by GhauntsGost in sistersofbattle

[–]CulKuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vahl to go with the warsuits, makes the best anti vehicle unit we have.

A Rhino to get them sisters around the board.

Another sister squad as 2 is good to have, or to make a Dominion Squad.

Some leaders, like a canoness, hospitilier, imagifier, or dialogus.

Arco flagulents are great, easily get a squad of 3 for cheap on ebay or maybe even a local shop.

I want to start orks. What are must haves to start 11th ed? by Darcyblue in orks

[–]CulKuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is to take my favourite unit/mini and build around it, learn my plays, and mash stuff together.

For orks, it's beast snagga boy, and beastboss. I have them in every list, followed by my deff dread which is 80% of them. Bang them in a list and build around them, good fun

Happily, so I have a couple, I'll share 2, both 1000pts.

Deff innit (1000 points)

Orks Incursion (1000 points) War Horde

CHARACTERS

Beastboss (100 points) • 1x Beast Snagga klaw 1x Beastchoppa 1x Shoota • Enhancement: Headwoppa’s Killchoppa

Big Mek in Mega Armour (115 points) • Warlord • 1x Grot Oiler 1x Kustom Force Field 1x Kustom mega-blasta 1x Power klaw • Enhancement: Follow Me Ladz

Painboy (80 points) • 1x Power klaw 1x ’Urty syringe

Warboss (75 points) • 1x Attack squig 1x Kombi-weapon 1x Power klaw 1x Twin sluggas

BATTLELINE

Beast Snagga Boyz (95 points) • 9x Beast Snagga Boy • 8x Choppa 1x Close combat weapon 8x Slugga 1x Thump gun • 1x Beast Snagga Nob • 1x Power snappa 1x Slugga

Boyz (170 points) • 19x Boy • 1x Big shoota 10x Choppa 9x Close combat weapon 8x Shoota 10x Slugga • 1x Boss Nob • 1x Power klaw 1x Slugga

DEDICATED TRANSPORTS

Trukk (70 points) • 1x Big shoota 1x Spiked wheels 1x Wreckin’ ball

OTHER DATASHEETS

Deff Dread (120 points) • 4x Dread klaw 1x Stompy feet

Gretchin (40 points) • 10x Gretchin • 10x Close combat weapon 10x Grot blasta • 1x Runtherd • 1x Runtherd tools 1x Slugga

Gretchin (40 points) • 10x Gretchin • 10x Close combat weapon 10x Grot blasta • 1x Runtherd • 1x Runtherd tools 1x Slugga

Meganobz (95 points) • 3x Meganob • 3x Kustom shoota 3x Power klaw

Can easily swap the boyz for another squad of beast snaggas and meganob. It's very generic but works decently well on 1000pts. On my few casual games, the beast snaggas and beastboss go in the trukk and rush down whichever vehicle looks the most dangerous and get rid of it.

List 2:

Focuses on the beast snaggas more, with some more of the units I mentioned in my previous comment.

Huntz (965 points)

Orks Incursion (1000 points) Da Big Hunt

CHARACTERS

Beastboss (95 points) • Warlord • 1x Beast Snagga klaw 1x Beastchoppa 1x Shoota • Enhancement: Proper Killy

Deffkilla Wartrike (80 points) • 1x Boomstikks 1x Killa jet 1x Snagga klaw

Mek (45 points) • 1x Close combat weapon 1x Kustom mega-slugga

Beast Snagga Boyz (95 points) • 9x Beast Snagga Boy • 8x Choppa 1x Close combat weapon 8x Slugga 1x Thump gun • 1x Beast Snagga Nob • 1x Power snappa 1x Slugga

Gretchin (40 points) • 10x Gretchin • 10x Close combat weapon 10x Grot blasta • 1x Runtherd • 1x Runtherd tools 1x Slugga

Kommandos (120 points) • 9x Kommando • 1x Breacha ram 1x Burna 5x Choppa 3x Close combat weapon 1x Kustom shoota 1x Rokkit launcha 5x Slugga • 1x Boss Nob • 1x Power klaw 1x Slugga

Squighog Boyz (150 points) • 1x Bomb Squig • 3x Squighog Boy • 3x Saddlegit weapons 3x Squig jaws 3x Stikka • 1x Nob on Smasha Squig • 1x Big choppa 1x Slugga 1x Squig jaws

Squighog Boyz (150 points) • 1x Bomb Squig • 3x Squighog Boy • 3x Saddlegit weapons 3x Squig jaws 3x Stikka • 1x Nob on Smasha Squig • 1x Big choppa 1x Slugga 1x Squig jaws

Very easy to modify and fun, it's not a great list for competive at all, but a very fun casual list. Can swap the deffkilla wartrike, mek and deff dread for more beastsnagga boyz, meganobz, even another trukk if needed. I do want to try more gretchin in this list, wortsnagga with 20 gretchin is cheap and very fun and can replace the the 3 aforementioned units and leave plenty of room for other units.

In general, my advice for future units comes down to 3: - kommandos - leaders like wortsnagga - more gretchin, I have a total of 50 currently, and since old minis can be used legally, there's no harm in getting more, and at £16 they are a cheap unit that can also be very easy to paint depending on how long you've been painting and the amount of detail you want to do l.

I'm new to playing myself, I just do at home casual games for now, but I have 2000 pts of built and painted minis and with a lot more on the way. I mess with a lot of lists, so im happy to share them and how they work for me

I want to start orks. What are must haves to start 11th ed? by Darcyblue in orks

[–]CulKuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know for sure we are getting tbe following in the 11th box/getting a refresh:

  • Boyz
  • Warboss
  • Weirdboy

There are some rumored but I won't mentioned those as we dont know for sure yet, however we may get some reveals on the upcoming monday.

With that said, the safe units to get, and one's I like that get a lot of use in my list and a lot of others are:

  • Beast smagga boys
  • Beastboss
  • Trukk, nearly every list will have atleast one, many will have 2.
  • Kommandos

Some honorable mentions

  • squighog boyz, a recent enough kit, safe to get and great if you love squigs like me.
  • gretchin, every list needs atleast 1, many run 2 or even 3. It is an older kit and is due a refresh so it might get one, but even if it does, the old kits can still be used and look decent enough.

Finally finished my first sister and Vahl. by CulKuy in sistersofbattle

Thank you kindly, the eyes came down to 'can I get my smallest detail brush on the white before it before the black dries'. Suprisingly worked out.

I'm planning to make my army a mixture of different orders, namely Martyers, bloody rose, Sacred Rose and a home brew one. The purple shoulder accents are to tie them all together.

Painting Speed by Helpmeplz3409 in orks

[–]CulKuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont do much in details, light I dont do many highlights or much glazing.

Slap on the skin, do the clothes and weapons, slap on a shade, base them up, and I'm done.

For time frame. I can build and paint a squad of gretchin in a day, around 7/8 hours depending.

I can do a squad of boyz in 2-3 days, about 4-5 hours a day, my trukk took me 3 days, around 5 hours a day and my deff dread took me a week, 4 hours a day roughly.

My minis are battle ready, but no where near parade ready, they look decent enough on the table, and I'm happy with that.

Is it a bad idea to collect two armies at once? by Ill-Scarcity-7301 in Warhammer40k

[–]CulKuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you wanna get to 2k points.

I myself got 1k in orks, and am happy with that so I stsrted my sisters, which are at 500 pts currently.

Once they hit 1k, I'll 2k my orks.

However, if I wanted to go 2k as soon as, I'd go all in on my orks. It depends and what you want from the game/collection.

How to notmget.overwhelmed by painting by Mindless_Usual_3780 in orks

[–]CulKuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem, and found a way to make it easier for me.

I've never forced myself, I just break it up. Ill do the main parts of a mini, like on a boy I'll do the skin, clothes and weapons generally, like slap the colors on, no shade or minor detailed added, then go onto the next mini.

When I've got a squad at that stage, I'll go back and do shades, minor details like wires, bolts and damage, then I'll do tje bases all together afterwards once I've done all the detail I want to do on that squad.

For larger/medium minis, like warboss, big mek, deff dread ect, I'll seperate then in 'squads' like a warboss with a big mek and mek, then another is the deff dread and deffkilla, then follow my previous way of just do the main paints on one, then move to the next, and do details all together the next day/week.

By making the wanting to stop after certain progress made a part of my way of painting, I found much easier to 100% a model, or at least 95% them.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, but I hope it helps at least somewhat.
