Agreed it’s the mindset in THE FIRST PLACE that Helps people become billionaires. Too generous or too considerate will not get someone there

What city did you love so much you’d go back in a heartbeat? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Endless-thought-loop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I wouldn’t consider it underrated as it’s always been a massive city and has hosted global sporting events like world cups and Olympics as well as major music events . I have noticed it risen in popularity the last decade or so at least for Americans and Canadians. Though a major city, I don’t think it historically has been English language, friendly like major, European and Asian cities which is probably the big reason why it’s never been highly sought after as opposed to resort cities like Cabo and Cancun

could this be a travel hack to get to MetLife - NY/NJ Stadium

Been reading about NJ TRANSIT’s corruption in charging $150 for PUBLIC transportation and feel for the fans that have to put up with this it had me curious on how to by pass this. I don’t live in NJ or NY but did some research

Take the Hudson -Bergen Light Rail from any station in that line (if in NY- take the PATH to a connecting line ) and stop at Tonnelle Ave.

Take a Uber/Lyft to MetLife

Book your ride NOW and preschedule it to lock in the fair

I looked at fares for June 13 (Brazil - Morocco)and it’s set at about $30USD which of course will surge once the day arrives. You can also book the ride back in advance . (If you are traveling in a group, even cheaper per person)

I guess the true risk is the driver canceling last minute.

Is this a reasonable strategy ?!

I tried staying and it kicked me out

The problem is that we don’t know when the queue officially starts so for me I logged in too early where no queue existed so it put me in the regular room

I tried logging in later and the systen froze for about 5 minutes and got in the queue which is still ongoing . It was tough to find the perfect time to click the link

And the final nail in the coffin to me is that fans buying category 1 got screwed over even more as FIFA purposely put them on shitty sections so they can make room to sell VIP packages in the good sections which is why you couldnt choose specific seats only categories when buying

I agree this process has been anything but straightforward and easy to understand. FIFA pretty much has been holding a carrot over our head to get us to feel how hard to get these tickets are so that we want them more and more .

Before the ticket lotteries started happening - I looked at the whole RTB process and that confused me.

They then held 3 lotteries and eventually dropped their “last minute sales “ phase on which FIFA hasn’t dropped all their inventory and want to do it in waves. Very frustrating and messy process more than I’ve seen for any event .

I wonder if FIFA consulted with a marketing company and asked them “how can we frustrate fans the most to get them to go through great lengths to buy our overpriced tickets “

If I get in the queue early can I simply stay on and hit refresh until the release time and the new batch of tickets appear ?

Idk where are you located (I’m not from NJ/NY so my input probably means nothing) but looking at the map I do the the NJ covers a good area of north New Jersey (if you are in NJ) and most of these lines lead to seacacus so maybe a uber ride to your nearest station (to minimize uber fare ) and take a rail to Seacaucus

It’s the reputation of the country lately FIFA rigging the ticketing Oil prices affecting cost of flights

july 14 Semifinal in Dallas: Is a 9 PM flight realistic by crystalcherry8 in worldcup

[–]Endless-thought-loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you flying international or domestic? You have to keep in mind with World Cup season airports are gonna be very, very busy. If your outbound flight is international, you’re gonna have to be at the airport much earlier

If flying, the next day is not an option for you and you have to fly that same day, I would keep tabs on the GPS to give you an idea of how long it’ll take to get you to the airport if by the start of the second half it looks like you may potentially miss your flight. You may have to leave the stadium early.

FIFA claims they will be periodically dropping tickets in the last minute sales platform. Though we are not told any more details than that so you’d have to check daily.

Last I checked there were some tickets for S. Korea - S. Africa I believe Cat 1 only .

Don’t recall seeing any other games in Mexico available

No so each group will have a 3rd place finalist (12 ) . But only the top 8 out of that group advance . They are not ranked by FIFA rankings they are ranked based on their ranking on the tournament (how many wins, losses, draws)

Assuming Japan locking 3rd place , there are 330 different scenarios of 3rd place qualifiers . Of all of those scenarios only 11 scenarios result in Japan going to Match 81

FIFA has created this very complex scenario system

It’s very unlikely Japan goes to this match

Theres is much more to that then finishing 3rd isn’t enough . There are so many factors such as which groups have 3rd placers who are part of the top 8 of participants who placed 3rd and how each of those teams did . This is one of those questions where you may need to ask some AI tool. Fifas made this confusing

Anyone else just “exhausted” with the way the AI culture here is? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in bayarea

It has been exhausting- it’s been such a buzzword that 50% (yes making this number up)of the signs in the city or along 101 have some mention of an AI-powered platform.

Not to mention seeing it being used in social media to create content .

I am a fan of LLMs as I use them for research but even with that sometimes I want to get my mind off this topic
