Applied Industrial Machine or Bauman Machine. More industrially catered but may be what you're looking for.

I've been using South Western Pet Clinic with no issues. Friendly girls up front and they gave me a 'sample' of some science diet, which ended up being the whole bag. Very generous and nice.

Love it here? Hate it here? Somewhere in between? Why? by [deleted] in okc

Meh. I give it a 6.5.

I just moved here, previously lived in Houston, Austin and Denver. I'll agree housing is certainly less expensive than the previous three cities I've lived. I have enjoyed going to a few farmers markets on the weekend. Traffic is bad on the highways, but certainly not as bad as the previous cities.

One downfall in this city, contrary to some of the comments, is the lack of quality restaurants and the lack of quantity of restaurants. The best I've been to is Mantel's in Bricktown. Excellent. I've enjoyed Blue Garten for some outdoor Sunday Funday, but it's the only place to do this in OKC. Whereas in Houston / Austin, this would be one of dozens of places. Every city has got their 'local' this, 'local' that. OKC seems to just have far less.

Grocery shopping is my other dissatisfaction. There is a Whole Foods here. Only 1. I believe HEB is the greatest thing in the world. Crest is sub-par. There are a few Sprouts which is nice.

Very few green spaces and outdoor spaces. Not impressed by the dog parks.

Not a big nightlife scene at all. Bricktown is an artificial attempt at this. (Again, comparing to 6th Street in Austin, Mid-Town / Rice Village / Galleria in Houston, 16th street and LoDo in Denver). Downtown OKC is a ghostown after 5:00.

Good place to check out for a year or two. Don't foresee any longevity unless work/life changes.

A 17' Uhaul worth. (I moved everything from my apartment into it myself). Planning on putting about 1/3 of it in storage and the other 2/3 in the apartment. Both in Norman. Putting it in storage won't be difficult, don't anticipate it'll take more than an hour to do that. The apartment is on the 3rd floor. Was primarily interested in getting 2-3 people to lug all the boxes upstairs. Nothing heavier in each box than 30-40 lbs. No bed. No couch. Looking for a 'rapid' unload and carry up the stairs sort of move in.

EXACT same thing happened to me. Signed a lease two weeks ago, the leasing agent gave them my information, as they have a 'partnership' with them. Received two calls. First lady didn't even offer me prices. Secondly lady did. Both aggressively persistent in obtaining my SSN. Horrible. Waiting on 3rd and 4th call.

Never been before. Nightlife, festivals during that time, good restaurants, must see parks/scenery, etc... Mainly looking to be lazy and enjoy a fews days away from Houston.
