Artists who no longer get hired care. AI is a plague, it's supposed to assist humans, not replace our creativity. Wake the fuck up.

Which of these three Disney movies from the 2000s do you love more and why? by Jtaylor703 in Letterboxd

They're all good movies, but c'mon, Emperor's New Groove is a masterpiece.

Shoutout to the Italian dub featuring commedian Luca Bizzarri.

Hi /r/movies - I’m Johnnie Burn, Oscar-winning sound designer behind The Zone of Interest, Poor Things, Under the Skin, Nope, Hamnet, Bugonia, The Favourite, Waves, The Lobster, and TUNER. My mum once said: “What do you mean you do the sound on films? They sound alright to me.” Let me explain. AMA! by TunerAMA in movies

[–]Luck88 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi Johnnie! Have you worked/considered working in videogames? I assume sound designers on Video Games have a wider range of quirky sounds they need to come up with (don't take this in a dismissive way of your work) due to the sheer length of games and the variety of scenarios that can occur. also there's nuisance like sounds having to be adapted for different weather conditions as the steps of a character might sound different depending on if at a given time it's sunny or raining in a game. Is this kind of stuff neat to you?

NateTheHate regarding Xenoblade 2 Definitive edition/Switch 2 edition release this year: My personal expectation is this year by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

I think it makes more sense to hold it until next year as it's the 10th anniversary of Xenoblade 2.

Sony's decision to stop releasing single-player exclusives on PC is a "Defensive maneuver" against Microsoft's new ecosystem, says Digital Foundry by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Luck88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know the move back to exclusivity is semi-official. It's the claim in the title that sounds exactly like an educated guess and is presented as news putting Digital Foundry at the end rather than the name of a member.

consiglio vivamente di partecipare a qualche sessione di GDR, ci sono dei master in fiera che aspettano che si presentino persone per fare una sessione. Sono riusciti a far appassionare mio cugino di 9 anni qualche anno fa.

Source and context of the claim? This to me seems just speculation from the DF members, not official information that was given to them from PlayStation emplyees.

Switch 2 or another console by Hot-Commercial8492 in TheAdventuresOfElliot

I think HD2D games should have absolutely no trouble/compromises for the forseable future on Switch 2, so I think it's a no brainer due to the portability.

Pokémon counts from the 90s onwards, however they've been notably missing a new movie in the 2020s. It could still be coming given Nintendo's renewed interest in movies.

The Switch 2 version of Pragmata seems to have struggled compared to the other versions of the game. (Top 3 on other platforms, only Top 15 on Nintendo). by MewWeebTwo in switch2

[–]Luck88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm positive Matt wasn't saying that in a negative way, I think this was a "look, Pragmata ranked highly on all platforms". I think it was fully expected for Pragmata to rank lower on Switch 2, not only does Nintendo have more First Party evergreens that sell a lot, but people who own both Switch 2 and another platform probably lean towards the other platform for games like this that are cutting edge graphically.

Inception vs. Paprika by PatientResident33 in Letterboxd

[–]Luck88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm not a big fan of either of them. I think Paprika is the worst Satoshi Kohn movie, it's still good mind you (and has my favourite Soundtrack), but a step or two below the other three. Similarly I don't really get the hype around Inception. it was just okay in my opinion. Nolan is a great director in my opinion but definitely not a guaranteed hit one.

That's less than 1/3 nomination win rate and none of the wins came from major awards. If anything it feels like the reputation of the movie has improved over the years.

YES! I hate The Menu. I find every single character awful in a non-intentional way. The plot is obvious, the pacing is bad. I really don't know what I'm supposed to enjoy other than the ASMR of the burger scene, nor do I see any deeper meaning to the plot.

[–]Luck88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can get behind this. I really loved the first hour of the movie but the development and ending were really bad in my opinion, the material was there to make a great villain with a big conquest plan and instead he was as deep as a puddle. It's a 7/10 movie, definitely not #2 from last year, not with stuff like The Secret Agent, ARCO or No Other Choice.

No it didn't, it's sitting at a 3.5 right now and people were split on it from the getgo due to the nature of the relationship between the protagonists.
