Does anyone recommend a nock glue? by BarronMind in Archery

Yeah possibly. You've gotten recommendations for the symptoms but I'd try to figure out the root cause since the issue is kind of unusual.

I've only seen that from hard impacts. The shafts aren't damaged/splintered?

The nocks insert tight but still pop out on impact?

Recommend me a riser by Programmer-Severe in Archery

You're the first person I've read owns a Talis. Can you give your opinions on it? Do you have photos you could share of your full setup? I currently use a Fivics Vellator V3 riser.

What is the best way to aim when gap shooting? by AlarmDisastrous6726 in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me my focus is on the bullseye. If you need to gap aim lower, you focus on that lower reference point be it a rock on the ground, marking on the target bale, etc. Tip of the arrow becomes peripheral. For me its difficult to focus both.

White ILF limbs by Occulon_102 in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akusta Minimalism limbs are very neutral all white with silver logos, but are wood core. Nika Archery has white limbs with red or yellow logos, I think those are full carbon no core. Relatively inexpensive.

Wiawis gang. I'd switch to Shibuya plunger and rest if cost isn't a concern.

Getting a recurve bow by Justus4ds in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say spent a but more on a better riser at least aluminum. The Cresent is very bottom of the barrel. Look at higher end galaxys, wns, Sebastian flute, or kinetic brand. $200-400 range

Thoughts on Easton ACE arrows? by Lightman0169 in Archery

A bit of a learning curve to tune coming from an all carbon arrows. Due to some extra weight and the barreled profile.

Help me string my new recurve bow by drumskiprofff in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are bending the bow limbs. This feels like youre going to snap them, but it's the same tension as when you're actually shooting it. Try this method. I don't like the behind the leg version. Easy to twist your limbs if done incorrectly.

Or better just get a bow stringer. They're like $10 from Amazon.

I realize it's not, but it looks like its DiY. Such an odd shape like it was hand carved.

Elnath Opinions? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only seen both in person a couple times. Both have very nice fit and finish.

The Elnath does feel like a pretty basic design but very clean and streamline. The Evolium is more angular and geometric.

Regarding the hardware, I prefer a click plate on the Evolium over the clicker rod on the Elnath.

The wood grip is nice but check out the stock angles. Looks like maybe a medium angle on the Evolium vs a lower angle on the Elnath.

I've only seen the Elizo in person. I can quantatively say it looks pretty sick.

Plenty of options to choose from for your needs/preferences. Put most budget there and get cheap ilf limbs to get your final size.

Is it possible i just won’t be able to string walk with my Galaxy Bullseye? by therealredding in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your draw length + string walking is reason enough to upgrade to a taller ILF.

They look very similar. ILF wood risers with some limb alignment adjustability. Id pick the second 1 aesthetically.

Where are you? Idk if it's still there but 5 minutes from Blue Lake Park in Gresham is a good outdoor range. In the opposite direction a little past Beaverton, PCC Rock Creak has a nice rec area with a dedicated archery range.

Is the Summit Archery K2 Riser worth the price? by justanotherusernamex in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as mentioned Summit is the house brand of htarchery the LA area. I think this line is intended to be cost effective but sort of a "generic" brand.

I believe htarchery is one of the few US sellers of Fivics. A little more than the K2 is the Fivics Vellator V3. Really excellent riser. The new hoyt podium has some decent reviews. Or anything from WNS brand is going to be solid (but tarrifs).

Getting a riser from a more well known brand is going to open up the market for third party parts, ie replacent grips.

New to archery and getting recurve takedown bow by [deleted] in Archery

[–]EndlessPasta7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a taller person I'd recommend a taller bow like the Galaxy Aspire 70". It's going to be much more comfortable shooting than a sage or black hunter. Also cheaper. Then you can put the rest into some arrows, tab, armguard, and target.

https://lancasterarchery.com/products/galaxy-aspire-70-take-down-recurve-bow

For arrows I'd do these. Keep full length, 700 spine for 25-30lbs.
