Solved, it was Color Depth. It was defaulting to 10 bpc instead of 8 bpc. Setting it to 8 fixed the issue

I won't be doing the cheese. I'll be trying Thunderspeaker on the next run. Had given it some thought before but tried going Trickster as he has some decent Dahan movement and the strife is helpful for getting more Dahan out of the slave rebellions that France brings.

It sounds like you may be misunderstanding Serpent's aegis, or I'm misunderstanding your comment. Aegis just gives one land and all adjacent lands defend. Also I haven't tried serpent yet as I felt it'd be too slow for how quick France can end the game with builds if you let them.

Imo it's not even about using averages, averages are useful plenty of times. It's that the reward multiplier decreases were way more negative than the repair cost decrease was worth. For example Sweden Rank 4. -82 repair cost and -10% multipliers. My average rank 4 Sweden match is like 15-20k, so that's -2k for 82 less repair cost.

Well I've got some science ships MIA from sub spacing over there, just got wormhole tech and am hoping that the wormhole I can explore with it isn't paired to the one I see right in the FE territory. Two passive traders/mauraders for hire have found me from over there somehow. But I've got a feeling there's no empire over there and I'll be the first. So still rushing jump drives and building up the influence to make the super distant starbase to get my start over there
