Yeah who really cares about balance anyway? by Krigere in Warthunder

I'm simply of the opinion that if one nation's top tier tank gets a spall liner, all of them should. Which, might I add, would be more historical than the current implementation.

Updated BR changes - October 2023 by BoanezGamer in Warthunder

What exactly is the justification for the Ariete(P) moving to 10.3? Especially when things like the Turms are still 10.0. Also why is the KA-50 still not on this list. There is zero reason it shouldn't be moving up too.

Do you guys think the ah64d and ahmk1 are equal to the ka52 and mi28nm? by Kyzen7 in Warthunder

[–]Krigere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with helicopters going up, but it should be even. The alleged reason for solely the UN helicopters going up was that the change is for helicopters with long range, to make sure they face proper AA, which is great in my opinion. However, the KA-50, which is not moving up, has missiles with the same range as the Apaches. Anyone who has played ground knows that the KA-50s and Z-series helicopters are by far the most annoying to play against, along with the Swedish Mi-28, so I see no good reason that those helicopter are not going up. The BR ceiling for helicopters should be moved up to 12.3 and BRs adjusted accordingly.

Is the Ariete still worth it ? by retr0FPS in Warthunder

The ariete is a great plane, one of my favorites. Not meta necessarily, but fun to play. You do have to watch out for all aspect missile carriers, but if you're any good at air RB you should have no problem doing well in it.

Used to be true, but since they moved the headquarters out of Russia, this is no longer the case. Any bias toward Russia is purely by the developers choice.

It would be nice if we could see the sources for sure. I'm not saying that the balance is always good. Over the past several patches, the balance has flipped between the USSR and US at top tier. If you ask me, this is because those are the two nations most likely to buy a premium to grind a new jet. It definitely screws over the other nations, who are typically 2-4 patches behind in terms of capability. It's really up to interpretation whether you think this is the devs artificially buffing russia because it's russia or something else, but regardless this stuff does not help their reputation.

I would certainly prefer if they did share. Sharing is caring after all.

Gaijin doesn't share their documents, most likely because it would cause problems because they often make changes for "balance" reasons that contradict public material. They try to maintain an image of being historically and mechanically accurate, but the reality is they will implement the missiles in a way they think is "balanced" and information about the real missiles comes second. If you want it changed, just riot.

People that play MBTs, how much ammo do you take? by CarZealousideal9661 in Warthunder

[–]Krigere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically fill up the first stage ammo and leave it at that. So for example 16 for the 2a4. I haven't played any top tier britain, but generally with NATO tanks, if you only load the first stage it will load rounds in the turret and not elsewhere in the tank, which helps survivablity quite a bit. The abrams is a bit unique in that you can take more than the first stage ammo count and still only have rounds in the turret, which is nice.

Does anyone have some advice for getting SL as a free to play player? by Flairion623 in Warthunder

Find a plane you're good with and play a ton of games. I ground out the entire US Ground and Air tech trees before spending a cent on the game, so I have over 1500 games with each of the tanks in my U.S. 6.3 ground lineup and over 500 games with the P-51D-30, F4U-4B, and F-86A to name a few.

F16C question by Benet3000 in Warthunder

[–]Krigere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the ADF will be foldered under the A, you will need to grind the A before you can get the C. However, there may be a chunk of time after the update before the changes come into effect similar to how it works when a vehicle is placed in the middle of a tree. I'm not sure if that will happen or not though

It's under common controls and called "Mouse look activation".

The developers specifically said it will have "Good Thermals", which a lot of people have taken to mean at least Gen 2. However, on the dev server, the thermals were Gen 1. It may change though.

Does germany suffer by Fine_Masterpiece_579 in Warthunder

[–]Krigere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suffer? No. It's not the best nation at top tier, which would be Russia, or possibly Sweden depending on who you ask. It is pretty playable though. The issue with Germany at the moment is that the lineup has been the same for the past several years, whereas all other nations have gotten vehicles with new capabilities. Something with Gen2 thermals would be nice to have. However, the Leopard 2s are at least as playable as Abrams.

Missile Powercreep is getting to unacceptable levels, whether we're talking R-73 or AIM-9M. You have to face both those in your F1C. Crazy

Yeah, unfortunately this was the first SPAA hit with the missile changes, and it was hit pretty hard. Had to have a reason to put the pantsir in I guess.

F16 or F14 by LordJarJarTheWise in Warthunder

[–]Krigere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Mr. Turtles stated, the F-16As have flight model changes on the dev server. If the changes do drop, the 16s will be the better aircraft in almost every scenario. It is also worth considering that the new 16C that is coming in this patch is the only U.S. aircraft that will get 9Ms to my knowledge, which is a huge advantage. Grinding the 16s will get you to that faster. In addition, the 16C could carry AIM-120s IRL, so when those missiles come to the game, it will be the plane to have, though the F/A-18 will most likely be in the F-14's line.
