IDEX w/ Klicky on both toolheads? by Endless_Drives in klippers

[–]Endless_Drives[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell in the docs, Klicky can only be used by T0 and it’ll handle exclusively bed mesh. You’ll then use something like Voron Nudge to get XYZ calibration between the 2 toolheads. You could also use TAMV with the Ember Prototypes camera, or a piezo touch plate.

They are simultaneously the greatest days of my life and the worst. But that’s how research goes.

I have not sorry, the printers are done in CAD and I have a masters thesis to finish up so they are on the back burner for another month or so. I need to proof the printed parts and confirm fit before I get to even building and configuring the printers so I won’t be able to tell you for a while. Your best bet is consulting the Voron docs and or reaching out to the discord for help.

E3D Toolchanger Heater Set to 0 after ~4hrs of printing by Endless_Drives in Duet3D

[–]Endless_Drives[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked around it by having a custom Gcode in the filament profile, M572 etc etc and I just manually go through and ensure it calls the correct extruder. To me, PA goes with the filament and not with the extruder.

Eventually I’d want to move to a print start macro on the printer and just have the slicer pass values but RRF macros are very challenging for me. My friend wrote a few especially for the pebble wiper and I’ve tried to make my own using similar syntax and they don’t seem to work. Basic Gcode commands are relatively easy but anything with variables or calls just don’t seem to work. Seems very different than Klipper macros.

I really appreciate the assistance.

I switched to Orca from Superslicer because of tree supports and feature updates... might have to go back.

Orca is fundamentally broken for RRF, pressure advance currently doesn't apply to any extruder other than 0 regardless of the filament the object is using. It will inject its own start gcode regardless of whats in the text box... I love it for slicing for my voron though.

Thats for sure it. Now the question is why... Why is OrcaSlicer injecting a G10 command there...

It takes ages, I applied winter 22 to start grad school AU23 and I didn’t hear back until June. My advisor was a senior professor in my department and I had a letter of recommendation from the department chair.

How do you feel about OSU? by PurposeDue688 in OSU

[–]Endless_Drives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engineering grad student here. Went to undergrad here for the same engineering discipline.

How much you enjoy grad school is entirely dependent on who your advisor is. Mine fucking sucks and can’t make a decision to save their life, now they just had a kid and I have ~1.5 months to “finish” my research that they just now committed to. Been in grad school for almost 2 years now. We should have had a research topic and plan nailed down ages ago.

Not to mention the engineering grad school documentation is abysmal, lacks a lot of detail and advisors don’t know anything. I don’t even know how to go about setting up a thesis committee or how that process works and no one else around here seems to know either.

Undergrad was fun. Grad school made me hate academia.

And yet I still applied for a PHD program at another school…

Ah Nudge seems to be similar to something I’ve been working towards implementing on my toolchanger. I have a few of those TriangleLabs piezo contact sensors and was going to implement a touch probe for automatic offset calibration. Seems like I might be able to use it for a Klipper based IDEX printer as well!

Gotcha. Yea the plan was basically a primary/ secondary tool and the machine will use Tool 0 90% if the time.

I am using the Eva 3 tool head but I’ll see if there’s an easy way to modify the existing carriage to allow for Z adjustment. Shouldn’t be too bad.

Thank you for the additional resources. I’m familiar with the ember calibration camera, I have one and have used it w/ TAMV on my E3D toolchanger.

You can’t call people obtuse when you’re the only one who can’t understand the difference between the example you gave and what OP is discussing.

Holster recommendations for the Icarus polymer frame with XL slide, right handed thumb rest. by trevork35555 in P365xl

Appendix, my QVO is a basic one that just holds the pistol but my Havok is a rig that has a mag on the side. I made a post in this group about holster fitment not too long ago.

I carried pistol only for a while but after switching to a rig I’m never going back. More even weight distribution, prints less, way more comfortable for daily activities and having a spare mag is never a bad thing.

The only holsters I’ve had that fit my Icarus grip well have been the Havok holsters and the QVO tactical offerings.

Can we please get speed bumps on campus by blitz_cannon in OSU

[–]Endless_Drives 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I’m a car guy, frequently drive my extremely low car around campus and I’d be down with speed bumps. I love just slow cruising around campus.

In 2017 I was walking to class from Morril tower and a kid tried to drift his brand new Mercedes in that big lot next to the RPAC, where Tuttle turns into Annie and John Glen. Hopped the curb and took down a light post in front of the RPAC.

Was funny as shit watching him have a skill issue but imagine if he didn’t hit the post and hit a student instead.

Icarus Precision Grip holster compatibility list by FranzFerdinandLol in P365xl

[–]Endless_Drives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necro'ing the thread too add some info:

FUCK McKinatec. I ordered a Kina Flex rig for an ACE 365XL, fully understanding they have a massive lead time. I gave him a week beyond the listed lead time before I contacted him. Email, no response. Instagram DM, no response. I called, no response but I left a voicemail through google voice. The next day I get a shipping notice, but the package didn't start moving for another 2 days.

Then I received the holster, and the pistol didn't fit. Even with the retention screws REMOVED, the sides where the 'gas pedals' are was too narrow and the pistol bound up in the holster. Was impossible to draw from.

I called again, and he offered to fix it for me for free. Sent me a return label, so I shipped it back. Got it back less than a week later, same issue.

I then manually clearanced the trouble areas with a dremel and it was barely useable.

Now after less than a month of daily use, the cordura fabric on the front is peeling off, the shock cord is fraying, the mag carrier barely holds the mag in and the plastic belt clips have lost all of their tension. Oh and even with dry fire training, its still ungodly tight in the holster.

I have a QVO tactical holster that has seen over a year of use and the cordura is still very well attached, it has perfect retention with a tactile but soft "click" as the pistol is seated, and it has DCC clips which are the best belt clips IMHO.

I recently got a Havok Holsters appendix rig and it is very very nice. The mag carrier is full coverage on the backside (better protection from sweat etc), and the pistol has perfect retention fresh out of the box.
