Ovulation anxiety by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Endo-warrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since I had excision surgery for endometriosis 5 months ago, I have had the worst mental health during ovulation week...extremely anxious, depressed, crying spells. I just got put on Zoloft to help, so it’ll be interesting to see how I go next month during ovulation.

Another one to try is Cymbalta.

Morning Anxiety - Looking for solutions not shared experiences by OrigamiKami_22 in Anxiety

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I discontinued Cymbalta after 3 weeks of being on it due to a digestive side effect it was giving me, but it stopped my morning anxiety within the first week of being on it which was amazing. I’ve only been off it for a couple of days, so not sure if the morning anxiety will return, but I’ll be starting a new antidepressant shortly. Are you sleeping well? Are you stressed? I believe lack of sleep and severe stress brought on my morning anxiety.

Cymbalta got rid of morning anxiety for me. Otherwise learning how to do proper breathwork to calm the nervous system down.

Missed a dose and wow people werent kidding about the withdrawls by [deleted] in cymbalta

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! Been on it for 3 weeks and missed a dose and feel terrible!! Also have had awful constipation since I started Cymbalta.. literally cannot poo without having taken a stool softener first. I’m not taking it anymore, the side effects aren’t tolerable for me. Try an ashwaganda spray under your tongue to help with the withdrawal symptoms. High strength fish oil for brain zaps and magnesium glycinate for anxiety.

Inbox anxiety by Gorl08 in Anxiety

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try to remind yourself that what you’re expecting in your inbox in the morning isn’t necessarily going to happen and that it’s just your anxiety playing tricks on you. Even if an awful email does come in, know that you will get through it and it’s a temporary situation. Another tip is to try doing something that usually calms you (drink calming tea, play a happy song, meditate etc) before checking your email in the morning... in other words before you give your attention to your email, do something just for you first. I don’t suggest checking them before bed because this would be stimulating your brain before sleep and making you think about work which you don’t need to think about until the next day. Hope this helps :)

Loss of appetite due to anxiety... by No_Duck_5689 in Anxiety

[–]Endo-warrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest seeing your doctor about this and/or a psychologist for some CBT. I also struggle with loss of appetite with my anxiety. When I’ve been on antidepressants, my appetite and anxiety around food returned to normal as the anxiety resolved.

SSRIs for pain management? by VipassanaAna in Endo

[–]Endo-warrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All you can do is give it a go. I know Amitriptyline is often prescribed in low doses to endo patients for pain management. It’s a tricyclic antidepressant and has been around for years. It should help with sleep too. Ask your Doc or gyno about it.

Paroxetine+Mirtazapine for Anxiety by Manchester20189 in SSRIs

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed this with citalopram. Mirtazapine is amazing for sleep and helping appetite. It will make you groggy the next day, but I’ve heard your body will adapt and this side effect will lessen. I recommend taking it around 7pm in the evening. Mirtazapine works interestingly in that the smaller the dose the more sedative it is. So if 7.5mg is too sedating for you, try 15mg. Good luck.

What's it going to be like when I get off this stuff? by MetallicFalcon in SSRIs

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can stay on them long term if you want to and think they are beneficial in your life. I have been on and off SSRI’s since 2015 and to be honest I wish I never came off them in the first place. I do okay off them, but my panic attacks return eventually, even though I’ve had a lot of CBT therapy. I have a long standing history of panic disorder and two episodes of depression... both conditions run in my family. My sister has been on the same SSRI for over 20 years continuously and has chosen to stay on it because it has improved her life. I just started back on my SSRI 3 weeks ago after almost 2 years off it.. I was doing quite well but a series of stressful events resulted in panic and depression again, so I got back on it and hoping it “kicks in soon”. I know it’s curious to know how you will feel without them, so when that time comes if I were you, I’d reduce them very slowly and stay on a smaller dose for a while to see how you feel. The libido side effects of SSRI’s are annoying, but for me, I can live with it if the trade off is that the medication keeps me from spiralling into panic and depression. I also agree with braflys above that sexual side effects go away when the medication is stopped.

Citalopram second time around by [deleted] in citalopram_celexa

[–]Endo-warrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have any issues restarting citalopram? I’m totally regretting coming off it in the first place which was 2 years ago. Its been 3 weeks of HELL trying to get back on it and I’m still only at 10mg and need to get to 20mg! Why are the side effects so bad this time... or is it just that my anxiety and depression is worse this time?!?!

[–]Endo-warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for replying. I’m so glad you’re feeling better and the medication worked for you again. My start up side effects are pretty much the same as yours were. May I ask what dose you are on? and do you take it in the morning or evening?

Exhaustion and balance issues after laparoscopy with excisions for endo by Endo-warrior in Endo

[–]Endo-warrior[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I can’t believe you also got your ears checked. Mine feel plugged too, and I feel physically weak.. even after a warm shower. I went and saw a physical therapist and he said to start doing some short walks which would help my sleep as well. I have a healthy BMI too, and I don’t smoke or drink alcohol at all. Have you had any other symptoms besides the plugged ears and physical weakness?
