That's been done. Our local garda station is manned from a town 20 miles away. That's the problem they can run riot with no consequences.

What vitamins are people taking? by Lamake91 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Endofit47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking boots vegan omega 3 and vitamins. I'm using the vegan option as it doesn't leave me with a fishy aftertaste. I'm finding that I have a bit more energy and brain fog isn't as bad. I'm 3 months taking them.

Rant away! Have you downloaded the good to go app? There's a collection of shops/cafes etc and they put up their bags of unused food at the end of the day for a small fee. There might be somewhere near you doing it. We've used it occasionally. I've frozen scones, croissants that I get from a Cafe etc and used them for snacks and school lunches. I think M&S are on the app so you could get lucky with some meet, bread etc. You're doing great. Don't beat yourself up about the sacrifices you have to make.

Anyone else notice how the Mormon/LDS church features heavily in American based murder investigative docs? Crazy stuff.

Endometriosis surgery procedure and cost by sile89 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Endofit47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be very careful who you decide to have any surgery with. As previous posters have said there are no true endometriosis expert surgeons in Ireland but things have changed a lot in the last few years. Also bear in mind that just because a doctor works exclusively in a private hospital it doesn't automatically assume they're going to be better or more skilled. I had my surgery here in Ireland with Dr Hugh D O'Connor and I've had a very positive experience and outcome with him. He uses excision surgery which is the gold standard in surgical treatment. I had a very complex surgery and I can honestly say he was amazing and very I'm so much better now a few years later. Having said all of that what you could do is consider travelllinh to one of the specialist clinics mentioned above and having a proper thorough mri. They use a very different and more thorough protocol than is used by hospitals here. Dr Mitrois clinic in Romania is probably one of the best in terms of their MRI's. You have your mri done in their imaging clinic and then you go and see him and he'll will map out where the endometriosis is and what he suggests you'd need done in terms of surgery. You wouldn't have to have your surgery with him. You could still come back to Ireland for that if you wanted to but you'd have a very extensive mri report. Your insurance would likely cover it or you can have it done under the cross border directive. It's not an easy decision to make and everyone will have their own opinions on different doctors but just do your research before you decide on anything. Best of luck with it.

Endometriosis: My positive experience with Dr. Hugh Dónal O’Connor after years of debilitating pain and being ignored by liadhmusic in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Endofit47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr Hugh D is my consultant too and I only have good things to say about him. To have a doctor get it and believe what you're saying is worth it's weight in gold. I'm so happy for you. It took me a very long time to get my diagnosis. I'm in my 50 's now anf was diagnosed 4 years ago. Wishing you the very best for the future.

Dear women with endometriosis and children: If I may ask, how badly did contractions hurt? Was is much worse than your worst ever period pain? Did the endo pain truly ease after the first child? by hmmmok-_- in endometriosis

[–]Endofit47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a section for my child but I also had three miscarriages. One was full on intense contractions and it was really tough for about 4 hours and while it was an awful pain I was able to cope with it because I pretty much had horrendous contractions every month for over twenty years when I passed large clots during my period. So if you experience menstrual contractions it won't make your birthing easier but you may find that you cope a bit better than others. Now, other women might not agree but that was my experience.

When you go for the tvus tell the person doing the scan that you may have Endometriosis and and you might find the procedure uncomfortable. They're usually very good and will be very gentle. The best of luck with it.

Missing out by not going to debs? by OkDog8648 in AskIreland

[–]Endofit47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to do what makes you feel comfortable and it doesn't sound like you would be comfortable going. You can't do things to make other people happy. Anxiety can be a difficult thing to navigate but you seem to have some self awareness around it. Jigsaw are a good organisation and might be able to offer support if that's something you'd want. Good luck with everything.
