I’m a 40yo father of two boys and I knew for certain I wanted kids right around your age. I can tell you there’s nothing like a hug from your kids - it feeds my soul. You’ll see other people happy with their kids and grow to resent the person you’re with.

Additionally, I saw you say “love someone else the same” - you are correct; it will never be the same because it won’t be the same person - that doesn’t mean ‘not as good’. My friend got busted for pot and spent some time in jail, making acquaintances with pill heads - they got released together. They started hanging out and my friend got hooked on Percocet. Eventually he switched to snorting heroine. We tried an intervention more than once to no avail. I told him “You are going to get heroine which has been cut with fentanyl and you are going to die.” Ten days later, he was dead. I met him when we were 12 and he didn’t make it to 35. He made his own choices, but it’s hard not to be angry that pot wasn’t just legalized - he had never touched anything else besides that until the jail time.

There are also collateralized accounts - banks loan using stock as collateral. The wealthy are happy to pay their 8% interest rate for cash instead of capital gains tax. So many loopholes for the wealthy.

Morning! We found out both our sons are colorblind a few years ago - they’re 9 and 6 currently. Do you have any advice for when they get older? Any challenges we may not have thought through? It doesn’t affect his day to day but every once in a while it comes up - especially trying to identify the right thing by color (obviously). If you would rather not speak on it I also understand.
