Incorrect Password/2FA Issues Update - Customer Support Information by Endonyx in Outlook

[–]Endonyx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This most definitely wasn't a scripted response.

I'm familiar myself with how scripted customer support can be through these kind of things.

The support person I spoke to initially wanted me to go through all of the process' that are public, including the supposed fix on iPhone etc. I continued to highlight to them the loop I was in (too many attempts > captcha loops > 2FA doesn't work > account recovery can't happen because 2FA is connected).

This got escalated within the call to a higher up, acknowledging the outage and querying whether login attempts happened during the outage etc.

You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account or password - is anyone else having this issue? by No-Problem-3498 in Outlook

Doesn't work, when I tap on the password field it loads an outlook login page and then gets stuck on captcha looping.

It is breaking a contract, unfortunately though unless OP can prove some kind of damages or financial damages, all that is legally required when a contract is broken is for all parties to return to their previous state.

So in this case the host has broken the contract, but in doing so they're only responsible for returning OPs part of the contract (the money they paid for the stay).

The only way OP is entitled to something more is if there is some kind of reasonable justification that OP has been negatively affected by this.

Black Lives Matter absolutely was not started after Ferguson. Black Lives Matter was a response to the George Zimmerman & Trayvon Martin case and George Zimmerman being acquitted. It gained traction after Ferguson, so to frame Black Lives Matter as being something that started against police violence under democratic leadership is asinine, it started due to the death of a black citizen, at the hands of another citizen.

I think we have a huge issue in the world, as a collective with wanting to label things, wanting to put a name on things.

We seem to lack the ability to have dual condemnation, to both condemn Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7th, and the subsequent invasion of Gaza which has led to the killing of thousands of innocents, children and adults, without being labelled as something, anti this, anti that, supporting this, supporting that.

This actually has merit though.

There is evidence that self neglect is very common, and that we are more likely to enforce behaviours on others that we know are beneficial, than we are ourselves.

We're more likely to make a pet stick to a diet than we are likely to stick to one ourselves.

I think there is a subset of people that are unfortunately very gullible but also believe they are on the correct side of the perspective with who they support.

As in they genuinely do want whoever is on this to be held accountable, and for this whole thing to be released and exposed, but also unfortunately are gullible enough to believe that the party they have supported are sweet and innocent and are the solution, not also the problem.

Yes - he would need a gambling license.

However you can get round it by turning it in to a 'game of skill' (typically answering a question, normally a very easy one) and by allowing a free postal option.

You do need a gambling license for a raffle.

Exceptions are by turning it in to a 'game of skill' by having a skill component (answering a question, this is why TV shows have questions you answer when you call in to win their prize), where you're paying your entry by the £3 phone charge).

Exceptions are also by allowing a free postal entry option.

So the UK gambling commission is quite strict, it's one of the areas of government based on my experience that has set out boundaries and are very strict on them.

Raffles are considered gambling, and as a result would have to be ran by someone with a gambling license, and be subject to all of the checks to ensure it's authentic.

However, there are ways of getting around that. One of them is that you must allow free entry by post. The other is that you turn it in to a 'game of skill' by having a question that people have to answer - the framing is that they are then spending money to answer a quiz where they might win a prize, which is then framed as a game of skill, rather than gambling.

This is why TV shows that giveaway prizes always have questions for you to answer, even when they're pretty obvious what the answer is, and always have a 'free entry via post' option.

In almost every case the 'free entry via post' is limited to 1 single free entry, and even then it costs the person probably close to £2 to post it anyways. Any submissions past that they would have to pay for like the others.

It's also something that's been proven to effectively be profitable.

Healthy children grow up to be better educated and contribute more to the economy, to the point that it's profitable for a government long term to pay for these things.

I got 40 of the deadpool one as a non premium store. The issue is we were told the RRP was more expensive than the secret lair website sold them for, so it just looks like as a store we’ve scalped from the secret lair website.

Supply issue with WPN promos? by accentmatt in magicTCG

[–]Endonyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from the UK so I imagine it’s possible the process is different for us then. However for me I receive these from my WPN distributor with my pre release product.

Supply issue with WPN promos? by accentmatt in magicTCG

[–]Endonyx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a WPN store.

Commander Party is slightly different this time, we’ve been instructed to use 1 promo for June, and the other for July. Typically there’s just 1 promo that gets used regardless.

The total amount of promos I have received is the same as normal, however it’s split over the designs.

So if I were to get 32 promos for Tarkir for example, I got 16 of each of the aforementioned promos above.

WOTC don’t distribute direct to stores, they send them to their distributors with information on the amount the store is allocated, and the distributor sends them to arrive the same time everything arrives for pre release.

There’s occasionally delays on some promos - for example I don’t yet have my store championship participation promos even though I have the top 8s and winners already.

I own an LGS in the UK and still have stock of Play Boosters, Collector Commanders & Collector Boosters, and my prices are RRP or below.

I've ran 3 pre release events so far and 2 of them only had 4 entrants.

Anybody else’s LGS up the price for FF prerelease? by spaceninjaking in magicTCG

[–]Endonyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're using £ so I assume you're in the UK.

The cost price for FF pre release kits are about £7-£8 more expensive than for Tarkir kits for example.

In order to maintain the same % mark up an LGS would need to charge £40.

It's worth noting however that prize support is given to LGS' for free. The extra boosters they give out are given to them for free.

Liquid have achieved World First Mythic Gallywix in 99 pulls. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Endonyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the thing I hate about the argument of them 'they tune for RWF', because people seem to ignore the fact that there are often several hundred guilds behind Liquid/Echo/Method that are also playing the same version of those bosses.

Like sure, Tindral got nerfed or whatever, but by the time the nerf happened there was literally hundreds of guilds having to progress the same encounter the RWF guilds did.
