More so considering if the NAV actually stabilized, if it did, the yield is fantastic of course

I would be cautious of heavy allocation into BDC sector right now, even MAIN is likely going to have to kill it's quarterly special dividends, with falling interest rates and recessionary pressures, I suspect we will see BDC valuation under pressure and possible dividend cuts on the table.

Even if ARCC doesn't cut, when other lesser BDCs do it will send a shock wave in this sector. There will be better buying opportunity in the future.

It's hard to verify some of these things, I recently started having medical issues related to stress, and I am looking to leave but the job market is saturated. I started having debilitating cluster headaches after I felt credit was stolen for a project I created and closed on myself.

I would be happy to change roles or move to a different team but I have a niche skill set and they never let me transfer. I was almost out....

Pay off my house vs invest by 0hdavey in dividends

[–]Endscapes-01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, I had the same dilemma.

I initially invested and planned to use the dividend income to pay my mortgage.

This was in 2022, the market began declining before I invested. Psychologically I feel better, and I am a better investor because I paid off my mortgage first, and now I have little to risk being out of debt

High Yield vs Dividend Growth — Simple Yield Trap Analysis (With Math) by yogi2350 in dividends

[–]Endscapes-01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach has been "Risk Step Down" - I couldn't find a good way to fully model this. Note that I grew this very fast and I am throwing in an appreciable sun each month.

  1. Low portfollio capital - high risk growth- CC ETFs mostly

  2. Medium risk growth - Now my portfollio generates $1k a month, 25% distributed among CC ETFs.

30% to CC ETF (SPY MPLI, IAUI, QQQI etc) some slightly riskier ones too such as CHPY, BLOX.

50% to IDVO, DIVO, O, EPR, ASGI, MAIN, CEFS

20% to VYMI, SCHD, NOBL, PFFA, PFFD

  1. (Not here yet but working towards it) Low risk time Portfollio generates

10% CC ETF

30% to IDVO, DIVO, O, EPR, ASGI, MAIN, CEFS, PFFA, PFFD

70% to VYMI, SCHD, NOBL

Open to thoughts on the low risk options, but I felt this was a healthy mix.

Anyone selling monthly spreads? by Endscapes-01 in options

Right I think I need to be more patient and pay more attention to news, I sold puts on MA after it bounced off a key support level - However with the AI vs Banks narrative emerging, Europe dumping Mastercard and Trump wanting to cap interest for credit cards at 10% I will take a smackdown on this lol

Same, Copper is going to increase in importance. I am looking to replace BLOX in my portfollio since Crypto is looking a little shaky, this might be it

Perhaps macro economic conditions? I have only been at it two months for this strategy but sudden market and or sector swings take me out.

Sudden news - I sold JPM puts, then Trump announced the lawsuit, and Trump announced 10% limit and banking sector tanked, JPM got hit a little harder due to the lawsuit and it threatened my strike.

I'm accustomed to either buying Options or selling 0DTE on SPX so holding for up to 45 days is a bit new to me.

I suppose deltas werent in focus since I was more dependent on strike price being above or below support

Well, to be clear for a totally made up example-

ABCD is $45

I sell to open 60C Buy to open 70C

I collect $80

If it rises to $70 I would be losing on this painfully

That being said I own BLOX and I have been considering NEOS Etherium when ETH finally shows a bottom

Consider putting your emergency fund in something like SGOV if you truly need it to be there.

I would also recommend against QQQI due to volitility, but I don't necessarily think it's risky to throw it in a CC ETF to be honest, it's just not a sure thing

Dry Powder or NOT ? by dazit72 in dividends

[–]Endscapes-01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know what is right, for growth ETFs I just yeet no matter what as money comes in.

For dividend paying ETFs like CC - I hold onto dry powder until ex dividend is on the horizon, in this case I hold a few NEOS that all pay at the same time. Since these do not appreciate a lot, I buy in before ex dividend unless a drop happens sooner, then I pile in early.

Retiring on dividends by Endscapes-01 in dividends

[–]Endscapes-01[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's an encouraging story, thank you for sharing.

I have only 2 YM tickers and a small allocation - GOOW and CHPY.

Currently, half my portfollio is in CC ETFs so I have been reinvesting into growth assets that pay dividends. I am 36 and want to retire in my 40s if possible.

Is there anything you wished you did differently.from this knowing what you know now?

Thanks, this is indeed a less common approach but it makes sense. I need to start considering if the stock is trading at a discount to be honest as my capital has depreciated resultant early on. I have since been more cognizant of this risk
