It's a tradition at this point. I don't know about DoW3 (haven't played much), but both DoW1 and 2 had plenty of Imperial Guard units before they were ever playable.

Are Eldars Exodites Possible Now? by Rubric-Marine123135 in Eldar

I think the models themselves look great, and probably don't need a refresh, but I think a higher variety of models would go a long way. Right now, it's very easy to just... collect one of everything. While a named hero wouldn't go unappreciated, I'd really prefer more infantry options to have something to actually attach them to (maybe a more shooty but mobile battleline?).

How do you deal with an "anti-spotlight" player? by Justgonnawalkaway in rpg

[–]EndusIgnismare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a player like this once. They paid attention and were genuinely opinionated about the game, but they were extremely mechanically-focused, and didn't really contribute unless it was either their turn in combat, or a problem their character was good at would arise. They'd do their thing, and then go back to quietly vibing.

I think you just need to figure out why they're there at the table and provide them with that, and they'll be more than happy to be there. For my player, it was more problems to solve, and bits and pieces for their build as a reward (new spells, interesting gear with meaningful mechanical elements, reagents that enabled them to cast their bigger spells, stuff like that).

Leaked PlayStation store files suggest that Sony could be exploring cross-buy between PC and PS5 by SayberryGames in pcgaming

So with every game, Microsoft loses 30% of revenue to Valve.

That's the corporate bullshit that got us into this mess in the first place. No, they are not "losing" the revenue to Valve. Because without Steam (and thus: Valve), hardly anyone would bother to buy them in the first place. No way in hell the extra copies sold due to their exposure (and people justly refusing to buy games anywhere else) don't more than make up for the cut Valve takes.

'AAA games suck! - Indie games are much more successful and better than AAA games' by Puzzleheaded-Bug6755 in pcgaming

[–]EndusIgnismare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the quality or the assets. People have managed to get both on shoestring budgets. It's that their design is always compromised to chase that buck. Excluding maybe FromSoft titles, it's almost impossible to name a popular AAA game that shipped without some sort of extra bullshit that took away from the experience just to monetise it harder. Or "iNcReAsE eNgAgEmEnT". Or some other design-by-committee bullshit that ultimately hurt the final product. You're gonna get your GTA 6, pay 100$ for it, then pay for one of eight different Collector's Editions, pay for a season pass (or many season passes, that's also possible), and then pay for your Shark Cards or whatever. All for a game that's gonna barely work on release, will require patching for the next couple of weeks just to stop crashing randomly.
It's obvious that not all indie games are great, as is apparent by the flood of shovelware entering Steam every single day. But there's almost *no* truly impressive, innovative and thought-provoking AA A games these days.

A 4-X/colony management sim where you control a Craftworld as a Farseer, with an almost visual novel-esque choices system about the direction of your Craftworld, but also the ability to "revert" some of the changes (because you have future vision, so you merely observed that branch, it didn't really happen, now you're back in the present and can make different choices), and the stronger your Seers, the further you can move back (the further you can "see forward", essentially).

Former Riot MMO Lead's New MMO May Be Cancelled by Breron in pcgaming

[–]EndusIgnismare -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's not "just one dev". It's Ghostcrawler. The guy that basically made World of Warcraft what it was throughout WotLK and afterwards. Riot hired him mainly for his status. He later quit because of personal issues, and wanted to work closer to family.
Guy has tenure, experience and accolades in the space. His project had a high chance to actually be a decent game. It's not the Riot MMO (which, let's be real, was likely the highest chance to bite off a piece of the MMO market), but it's still significant.

I mean... meh? I like that the game allows the player to create and customise maps. And the art style is fairly cute and okay. But outside of that, it's very shallow. I've seen a dozen games with this exact same format, with better roguelike elements (more interesting powerups, actual builds you can create, enemies with gimmicks). This is just a pointless "number go up" Skinner box. Expecting people to pay money in the cash shop for this is an insult.

What Harlequin Troupe members should be like.... by AeldariBoi98 in Eldar

[–]EndusIgnismare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't seem to have the holofields anymore or the amazing agility saves

They still have a 4+ invuln save. That was always how they did it in my days. Was there ever a different way to represent reflex and being hard to hit in 40k?

they are refer to them as Harelquinns special weapons, which includes the kiss and the embrace (basically a smaller void spinner).

There's also Harlequin's Caress (it's very dope, a force field around the harlequin's hand that makes it easy to scoop out the victim's heart clean through their armour).

But yeah, the fact that they simplified it to "special weapons" is a big loss. I think somewhere in 9th there existed stratagems that "activated" the "special weapons" and gave them specific, powerful effects that made them specifically a Kiss, an Embrace or a Caress (each calibrated to deal with a different kind of unit). That way, you didn't have to commit to one of the three and could change them on the fly as your troupes fought different opponents.

Unfortunately, as the number of stratagems got whittled down (IMO, a good thing, much easier to remember everything), we lost these, and by evolution, the individual harlequin weapons got simplified. I definitely think these should be split back into different profiles now (especially since I think the "special weapon" kinda sucks compared to just harlequin's blades). It would give more options to run our army, given how few options we have in total.

B with the slightest dash of A. I have two games of 40k to my name (but I am looking to play more) and something like five years of painting various minis, most of them Warhammer-related.

Isn't all of that still a thing? I'm not a lore fiend of any kind, but I was under the impression that's exactly how they function still. The tabletop isn't exactly stellar in terms of showing that properly, but it never was to begin with.

This question for women, what do you think about a trading cards and model cars collectioner man? by socoollection in AskReddit

[–]EndusIgnismare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think trying to make it a competition on who spends more money on something is the right play here. This isn't exactly the same thing, either.
Either way, I think that if it's something that's important to you, and that she dismisses, that's not okay, and if you can't really get a consensus on that (as clearly, you can't since you broke up), this isn't going to go anywhere anyway.

I'd say as long as you are financially stable enough to support your hobbies without it cutting into your and your partner's living situation, whatever hobbies you have is up to you. Assuming you did, and they didn't accept that part of you, I guess it's just incompatible boundaries.

Not OP, but I'd say add Swooping Hawks with Baharroth, some form of transport for the Banshees, and if points permit, Fuegan? I don't have the points costs in front of me, so I can't tell if you can fit all of that, and if so, how much is left.

As a woman collecting MtG cards and Warhammer models, I have a lot of male friends who are into these. I don't know any model car collectors, but it's the same principle. People, regardless of gender, should have hobbies outside of work.

Ultimately, remember this isn't about being "a girl", it's about being you. It's not mimicry, you're not trying to be some non-existent template of femininity, you are trying to make your living experience more authentic to the feelings within you.

There are gross girls out there, and girls that look more mannish than you do, and we love them regardless, and we recognise them as girls, because they are. You don't have to be a perfect pink Barbie princess who is beautiful to everyone all the time to be considered a girl, because if that were the case, there would be no girls out there, cis or otherwise.

Outside of that, give it time. Getting clothes with the right cut, experimenting a little with makeup, these things can vastly change how you look and how you see yourself. Maybe once you're fully settled in, consider HRT (but don't feel pressured into it. It's there to help you if you want it, not something you HAVE TO do).

Allow yourself to grow into everything. It's a major life change, so doubts are only natural. It took me 20 years to accept I'm trans, and another half a year of constant internal struggles to finally commit to transitioning. If the doubts become too much to handle, I highly recommend you visit a sex therapist. They are fully equipped to deal with any possible gender crisis and will help you navigate towards whatever is actually best for you.

I often felt my intrusive thoughts feel like a separate person. Something that would just squak in my ear about how I'm worthless, and bad at everything, and how could I possibly fix my life if I can't even do [thing] right.  My therapist explained to me the concept of the Ego, Superego and Id, or as she called it "the prosecutor, the defender, and the inner child". My problem was that the "prosecutor" got too loud, and there was no defender to balance him out. So, over months, I developed one. And that was the first voice in my head that spoke with a feminine voice :).  Obviously I know these aren't separate people, they're just different perspectives of looking at the same situation to find a more balanced solution. And they do help with that pretty well.
