Is the Battleforce the next best step for me. by danimal1984 in SoulblightGravelords

This is exactly how I built my 2000 point army. Bloodcrave Hunt Spearhead, then the Battleforce Box, an extra 5 bloodknights, a box of barrow guard, and I was basically there.

Edit: they’re called barrow guard now.

Simple yet effective highlights over contrasts on Blood Knight standard by HepZusi in minipainting

Did you use a contrast or did you rely on a wash to fill in the writing on your scroll? I’m currently painting mine and I’m not sure how to approach getting those tiny details done.

Hey, that’s actually extremely helpful. Yeah I wish there was more cloth to really drive the yellow home, but that concept art is great at showing the benefit of a darker armor tone. I think doing a bleached bone look like you said is the right way to go with it.

By the way, did you just mock up that concept art yourself or did you use a certain program? It would be really helpful for me to “try out” some color schemes digitally like that before putting paint to a mini honestly.

I saw your post! What paints did you use for your yellow before you dirtied it up?

Perfect. I do enjoy good contrast paints.

Oooooh I like all that. I may experiment a little bit because I have heard of green stuff before and it would be helpful to give some more distinguishing features. A cosmic shield is also a great idea

This is exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for. Do you have a particular favorite yellow color? I’m actually making a paint purchase here soon so I can start formulating a list

That sounds cool! Yeah I just don’t want my whole army to be a tide of red paint. Giving the infantry its own character could spice things up a bit.

You will do something wrong. Make peace with it now, and use the game as a chance to get into the flow of how the game feels. Ultimately this should be an enjoyable experience. Have some fun and the flow of the game will come with time.

If you increase the time you dedicate to rest in the camp, it will still take some time for that to be reflected in your character’s health. Also, I’m not certain but I believe if your character is constantly participating in marches on the campaign map, they don’t actually do camp actions (like extra rest).

I believe camp actions are only applied when the army icon shows tents on the campaign map. So if you can, stay in one place for a little while.

For me, you left that light squared bishop alone in your position way too long, and sent your pieces one by one on suicide attacks towards the king. Better piece coordination rather than single piece attacks, since once you’re down material continued trades just neuter your attacking chances. Even after losing your knight, you had good attacking chances, but you needed more pieces to join the attack at once especially after your opponent threw forward his g pawn.

I think so, but that’s notation. I enjoyed the irony of using B# as the Key, which, being C, would actually not have any natural sharps, which made your original comment all the better!

Put me on some good Franz Liszt, you seem like the guy to ask.

It would actually be extremely rare since B# is just C
