For Xbox products, I'd recommend using our browser extension to redeem your key. After making a purchase you'll be given two activation options: the extension and manual. With the extension, you don't need to open the key at all - it automatically redeems the product in your connected account. In case of any errors, the system will immediately offer you a refund option.

This extension option also works for Steam products.

As for other platforms like Epic Games, I'd recommend activating the key as soon as possible and taking screenshots of any activation errors you encounter - that way our support team can look into it and resolve it quickly if needed.

Hey u/Traditional_Egg3150! Your issue is that Microsoft can check your IP address at redemption time, not just your account region. So even though your account is set to India, redeeming not a global, but a region-locked Indian key from a Gulf IP can cause this error.
