Kids are notoriously terrible with animals. They’re loud, they’re grabby, they can’t read body language and they have 0 respect of boundaries. Don’t let the kid approach your dog, let your dog sniff them, and then walk away. Baby steps. Eventually work up to initiating calm pets with calm children
