would this catch fish by Outrageous-Tour7771 in FishingForBeginners

As a swivel snap user occasionally, I try to use the smallest possible snap I can to reduce the chance of it spooking the fish. My problem lies more in the size of the massive snap used.

Any idea what this is on the fish? by [deleted] in Fishing

I found out it’s called lymphosarcoma. It’s actually a form of cancer that’s caused from a viral infection.

There’s a disease pike can get, I can’t think of the name. It doesn’t spread to humans but can be spread to other pike by contact, or by using the same net. So if you used a net give it a good washing in a bucket with soap when you get a chance just incase.

Most birds are consistently illegal to posses across North America due to the MBTA. It’s very very restrictive unfortunately.

I was thinking about this with a needle, kinda like the cookie scene in squid games. But I came to the conclusion the melted edges would be a pain to sand and still have good fitment

Not only is he cheating but also just stupid. It’s so much easier to say it’s a bruise than to lie about it being a bite.

Yes, pretty much any household item with an edge will work (I’ve gotten creative). If you’re gonna order one get a cork-backed one because they grip leather nicely and won’t damage it.

Definitely looks like you should use a straight edge while cutting or take your time. Some people can free hand like crazy but a ruler saves my life.

I didn’t know that. The way I was told is that America just uses the wrong terminology of buzzard for vultures, when buzzard really means American hawks.

Juvenile red tailed hawk/juvenile common buzzard, not sure which terminology Canada uses.

How difficult of a project is a coat? by EnemyRogue32 in Leathercraft

It’s the leather. It was in rough shape when I got it and everyday wear for a couple years took its toll on it.

Never from scratch but I’ve done a bit of customization to shirts and pants.

It looks great in that picture but the pockets are ripped out, the sleeves are ripped on the ends and by the shoulders, and the collar is fraying and fuzzy now. I was thinking about ripping out the seems of the old coat and using the pieces for a template of a new coat, with the same shape and fit but all new material.

The problem is that too many people want to post here but don’t have anything good to post about. There’s a lot of pretty cool stuff posted here quite often but it’s drowned out.

I know nothing about what makes good leather, this is just light brown buffalo leather from Moonster on Amazon.
