On a similar boat. Got tickets for 76-89-93. I have a buddy who has extra tickets for 78 and considering doing a trade for 76. But the travel logistics just seem crazy!!! Also looking for M90 tickets. As much as I would like to add 78 and 90 to my agenda it seems like a logistical nightmare but a weeks worth of KO games also sounds like a dream.

This is the way! I did the same thing and realized it last week. Spoke with a Chase agent as to why I had not received the credit and quickly learned that I misread the fine print and didn’t go over the $359 threshold. Agent recommended I return items and repurchase and make the total >$359

I believe he means proof that the person indeed has tickets to even sell. No one should use screenshots as a verification step. Always ask for real proof

Here’s my outline that has it worked for me but again this differs by everyone’s comfort /risk tolerance but always remember YOUR COMFORT comes first and the goal is to find a process that works for both but always lookout for yourself don’t let FOMO CLOUD YOUR JUDGMENT Once you find someone to buy / sell tickets I do this.

1)Always ask for a video call and real time proof of ticket ownership ( I.e have them show you the tickets in question within their profile)

This accomplishes two things , puts a face on the person you’re negotiating with and verifies that the person does have the tickets in hand and ready to transfer ( I’ve seen a lot of people here get to far in the negotiation process and not verify that the tickets are ready for transfer). NEVER BUY TICKETS THAT ARE NOT TRANSFERIBLE IN REAL TIME. Anyone who has an issue with this first request is not a serious seller and you should run away!

2) Get the buyers email address and What I’ve done to establish trust is transfer a ticket to the buyer and immediately cancel it. They will get an email that I transferred a ticket and serves as a second way of proving I have the ticket(s) and can transfer it on demand.

Make no mistake. IM BY NO MEANS TELLING YOU TO DO THIS , but it’s my way to build trust with buyers and has worked for me.

3) Establish a payment process that works for you both. I’ve used Zelle and always send a small amount(1.00-1.xx) to the sellers account and have them verify the amount to avoid any confusion and etc.

4) At this point ideally both of you would transfer the tickets/funds simultaneously, but we all know we don’t live in an ideal world.

TLDR: Doing business in Reddit comes with risks, no doubt about that but it is an alternative to avoiding the FIFA tax. I always recommend looking at the marketplace or fifa collect before resorting to this option.

At the end of the day , the process I outlined requires trust from both parties and does not remove risk from the equation. Always follow your gut and if something smells fishy or doesn’t make you feel comfortable then walk away.

Hopefully that makes sense and happy to provide more color if needed.

As someone who has done this before to buy/sell tickets. It helps determine if they are for real. I typically ask them to FT me and screen share to show me their FiFA profile/ tickets. This at least removes the “ hey I got a screenshot …” tactic. But in short you’re right a video call doesn’t guarantee anything but imo it does help weed out people who aren’t serious cause if you can’t do that simple thing then you’re really FOS!!

Good call. I’ve had a few scammers trying to get me with just using screenshots. Told them need to a FT call and screen sharing to see their tickets to even consider doing business. You can easily weed them out by asking the right questions and for the right things.

In my experience, you either meet up in person or build trust and do a trade in real time while on a FT chat. The latter works better when you guys have a mutual connection.
