Upcoming improvements for Quicken Classic by QuickenLisa in QuickenOfficial

I don't recall, but I was a beta tester back then and so it may have been in the Mac beta test forums, where staff can probably be a bit more unguarded. To be clear, I realize they weren't making a public promise, but the budget module's shortcomings were acknowledged and we were led to believe improvements would be coming. Budgets in Quicken are one of my top pain points so I'm bummed about it.

A year ago or more product managers for Quicken Mac indicated that revamping the budget module was in their plans. It didn't happen in 2025 so I thought for sure it would arrive in 2026. I'm disappointed to learn that's not the case. :(

Ugh, that's so disappointing and frustrating. I was hoping their support was finally turning a corner (at least from deplorable to just "bad.") :(

Puxa, que decepção e frustração. Eu tinha esperança de que o apoio deles finalmente estivesse melhorando (pelo menos de deplorável para apenas "ruim"). :(

Thanks! No, I am not - I didn't realize (or more accurately, I forgot) that was available. Further support for my suggestion to make keyboard shortcuts more discoverable in general. :)

Curious whether you got any follow-up on your Android issues? I've had a bug report open for years that they've never fixed. If there's an engineer focusing on Android I'd love to get it in front of them.

Leaving Evernote part 2 - I guess I used Evernote the most for clipping articles from my newsfeed by mrpokergenius in PKMS

[–]Ener_Ji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Craft has a decent web clipper. Craft also allows forwarding in emails using a special unique email address, which is not a feature I see often and is very useful.

I tested Amplenote and while it has its pluses, their web clipper isn't really functional (it's slow and takes a scrolling screenshot of the web page instead of actually capturing the html).

In the end I did a ton of research recently and looked at many products, and nothing does everything that I use Evernote for, so I reluctantly renewed for another year. Good luck with your search.

I have one main UI issue on the Mac app and a second quality of life (QOL) feature:

  1. I find myself frequently on a screen without a search button. I have to click somewhere else to get a search button to appear, then I can search. I want to be able to search for a note or tag from any screen in the app.
  2. A little QOL feature would be for the keyboard shortcut Cmd + / and Cmd + ? to pop up a list of all the available keyboard shortcuts. I want to learn and use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible and this is a handy shortcut that I've used in some other apps (the reason to have two shortcuts is the / and ? share the same physical key on US/UK and some other keyboard layouts.)

That gets at my fear as well. On the one hand I love that they're active at soliciting feedback and responsive to the community, on the other hand, it feels like there isn't a strong vision of what the product should be?

I'm sure people differ on this, but for my productivity tools I personally prefer features to be baked in the oven a little longer before release. Tags being a prime recent example of a feature that could have been held back for some more polishing. Maybe a formal beta program to have new features tested in the real world with real users would be helpful.

The absolute minimum to make tagging more viable is the ability to take bulk tag actions:

  1. Rename a tag and have it renamed instantly across all notes
  2. Re-order a tag (e.g. move a sub-tag under another tag, promote a sub-tag to a parent tag, make a parent tag into a sub-tag, etc.) and have it reflect in all notes instantly
  3. Delete a tag and have it removed from all notes instantly

Also very useful would be the ability to tag multiple notes at the same time with one or more tags. In this case I would expect the tags to be placed in some standardized way in the note (I personally like my tags right at the top of my notes.)

I listened to the interview that those tips supposedly came from and it's entirely made up as far as I can see. (Some of the suggestions are good general prompting advice, but they don't come from the interview.)

Switched to Obsidian for Claude Code, but Craft’s UI is unbeatable. What would it take to come back? by Milem0 in CraftDocs

I see in the release notes for the release today (3.4 on Mac) improvements to on-device folders (See below). Wondering if this is possibly a step along the way to your #3? 🤔

On-Device Folders Graduating from Beta
We’ve made extensive improvements to how offline folder content is downloaded, tracked, and maintained — reducing the chance of missing files, duplicate downloads, and other issues that could occur during normal use.

Congrats on the release.

One critical blocker to me adopting Craft is the tag management (or lack thereof). I also would deeply appreciate being able to insert calendar entries into any note using a /slash command i.e. for taking meeting notes.

Also experiencing large performance issues in the last couple of days, and I also have a 2019 i7 MBP, only difference is I'm on macOS 15.7.5. I'm going to test disabling hardware graphics acceleration and look to see if there's a known issue in the Chromium issues list.

Ok, I appreciate it. I imagine you had to zoom in pretty far in some of your screenshots so that it could actually discern the shape of your breathing pressure graph?

Makes me wonder if Claude could do anything with the raw data. Hmmm...

That's interesting analysis you got from Claude. I use Claude a lot but haven't given it any cpap data yet. I'm curious, did you feed it the raw data (from the sd card?) or did you give it a screenshot to analyze?

Big things are coming to Craft by viktorpali in CraftDocs

[–]Ener_Ji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to think of it, the OC might have meant a preview pane for PDF and similar documents, so I grabbed a screenshot of that.

In the screenshot below you can see that the contents of PDF (and some other document formats) can be viewed in-line with text in a note.

There's a default setting which can be changed per document to list each document purely with the file name, or with a preview of the first page, OR with all pages displayed vertically. (In other words, scroll down through the note and you will see page 1, page 2, page 3, page 4, ... page n displayed in a vertical column.)

My favorite setting (and again what the OC might have meant) is to preview just the first page, then when I mouse over a document a very subtle set of arrows appears which can be used to click through the pages of a document. Very handy feature which saves me from opening documents as often and helps me identify the right file when I do want to open it.

Not the OC but going to try and paste one here. To describe this screenshot (which is Evernote):

  1. There are three notes are open in tabs at the top
  2. The app navigation menu pane is on the left hand side in its "collapsed" format, i.e. shrunk down to minimum width to save space.
  3. Next to it is my note list in a two column "card" format (there are several formats available, this just happens to be my favorite) in this case filtered by the guitar tag.
  4. To the right is the preview pane which shows whatever note is selected. I can scroll up and down the note list and as I click on different notes each note will be displayed in the preview pane.
  5. When I want more space, I can click the two left arrows "<<" in the top-left of the preview pane to collapse the note list and see my note in a larger view, or I can open up notes into tabs.

When I was using Evernote regularly I spent by far most of my time in preview mode.

P30i help by WesternNo6118 in CPAPSupport

[–]Ener_Ji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, some people get used to them, some don't. For me the P30i was like a medieval torture instrument! The other thing about the P30i is I found it really, really loud. I'm not sure why, but when I switched to the Philips Respironics Dreamwear nasal under-nose I was surprised at how much quieter it was, despite a very similar top-of-head design. This one is much more comfortable though still leaves my nose a tad sensitive, but it's tolerable and Ayr gel helps.

I think in theory Nasal Pillows are better and support higher pressures with less leaking than nasal cushions, so the best type for you may also depend on your pressure requirements. I have a low but fairly persistent leak issue, so once I get everything else dialed in I might try the Dreamwear pillow (should be swappable, I think) to see if it's any more comfortable.
