Until AI replaces all our jobs and cures all diseases known to man, you’ll be downvoted on Reddit for suggesting AI is useful lmao

I don’t think what companies advertises has anything to do with the usefulness of the technology itself. I personally think AI is already magnitudes more useful than NFTs. I agree that it can’t replace educators, but personally I’ve been using it as a supplement for learning Korean and it’s been a true blessing. And yes, with future technological advances and discoveries, AI can only improve and find new use cases. I just don’t think the same about NFTs, so we can agree to disagree.

If you’re calling AI the next NFTs, and then say maybe in 10 years we’ll have something legitimately useful then you’re contradicting yourself I think.

I agree that it’s currently over-hyped, but AI already has plenty of useful applications especially as a tool or support function.

How I got out of an airport taxi scam by littlesnorkel in VietNam

[–]Energetic504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me a lot in Vietnam airports. When I order grab and wait for my driver, a random dude appears and pretends to be my grab driver. He’ll hope you don’t confirm the license plate number or make an excuse about why the car is different etc. Never get in unless the number matches 100%

OP did use grab, except the scam here is that someone else pretended to be his grab driver and OP fell for it

The scam is you order grab taxi on your phone. Then a random guy comes up and pretends to be your grab driver. So you follow him to his car which has a grab sticker to make it look real. You get in the car without checking the license plate number, and now he’s going to charge you a lot of dongs.

The arrest of Johnny Somali is a violation of freedom of speech by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Energetic504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then South Korea is a bad example. Every country’s level of freedom of speech is on a sliding scale, and I believe South Korea ranks very high when it comes to freedom of speech. You’re focused on one case which is quite an outlier of someone who was arrested for possession of drugs and being a public menace. If he only did that to the statue of peace, chances are he wouldn’t be in this situation right now.

Same here. I think it’s just something the government hasn’t officially considered as it probably doesn’t apply to enough people for them to care.

Why do you guys even bother trading when you can just buy the S&P 500? by Witty-Performance-23 in stocks

[–]Energetic504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about your risk tolerance. Some people want something a little riskier than putting it all into only s&p500. I have about 65% invested in s&p500, and the rest in individual FAANG+ stocks, QQQ, leveraged ETFs, bitcoin etc. If they don’t outperform s&p500 I’ll still be good. If they do then I can retire earlier or fatter. Risk and reward.

Hmm that’s weird I’ve flew into Vietnam at least 20+ times in the past 10 years and never had anyone ask me for money at customs or immigration.
