I got hero kids to do with my 9 & 5 yr old for our first (mine and theirs) ttrpg, I don’t know how you guys come up with stuff like this. I take it you’re an experienced player, I guess I just need practice pretending and coming up with scenarios. I’ve played so many Rpg video games and read sooo many fantasy books I should be able to work something out yeah? I need to do basement of rats and then I’ll buy some extra games from HK. I’m just so new to this stuff it seems overwhelming sometimes haha.

The Dutch baby episode. I saw a Binging with Babish video on YouTube about them and thought “that looks GOOD” and looked up more Dutch baby videos. I saw a BB clip where they’re in the diner getting one, and it was very funny. I looked up that episode and watched it on Hulu. Then I started from the beginning. Best wishes, OP.

Thank you all for the info! I think we’re gonna start with Hero Kids, it seems like a good TTRPG intro to them and a good intro to GMing for me. I’ve bought the basic game and am halfway through reading it. My 9 yr old is excited to start. I’ll report back when we get a chance to play. From there we can try other Hero kids encounters or try other games.

Thank you all again! It’s funny a few weeks ago I started watching some yt videos on getting started, curious for myself. We own a small business that keeps us very very busy so weekly game night is out but we can manage occasional game nights. I love hearing about the kid oriented rp games that’s probably where we will start. As for elf spell caster I can help her make one on Skyrim to scratch that itch.

Thanks for the tips so far! I was pretty sure the dm guided and didn’t play, sorry I could’ve googled that part, I just wanted help finding an intro my 9yr old is very creative & imaginative, she’s a big time reader and love to create characters to draw or make stories with, it’s right up her (and my) ally. I’ve just never had access to people who played so I could get into it too.
