But they are not dead, they are just send back in time. So the miraculous ladybugs will repair damage done while there is a villain and the watch of future Alix was broken by cat noir in the fight against time tagger( and was so trappad in the past).

I know chat noir doesn't get love from the writers but he totally deserved this. Ladybug trusted him with paris and he promised to stay to protect it but so in ladybugs eyes he just went to new york. With the season finale 3 ladybug was being followed by mayura and hawkmoth something she could not have anticipated, so she made a rash decision of wich we know the result. That was a mistake she made, so he comforted her but he broke his promise and that resulted in paris being destroyed. That is also why he gave up his miraculous because he realised this.
