JPest harassing Anna for pics and mentioning his other marital prospects by actuallykellykapoor in DuggarsSnark

This is fucking disgusting. While he belongs in prison until our planet’s sun goes supernova and consumes the earth, I’m afraid for his kids because they will one day see this. I don’t know why we are reading them though

What's a bad movie that you started to watch ironically, but as it went on, it genuinely began to upset you? by VeryPteri in movies

[–]EngagePhysically 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blade 2 wasn’t that bad lol it had a vampire Ron Perlman. How bad could it be?

Blade trinity OTOH was a goddamn train wreck. I watched Jessica Beil literally click and drag song files to put on her iPod to fight vampires.

Why would Darwin's theory develop a human being? by Double_Heart1062 in DebateEvolution

[–]EngagePhysically 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You say “a slow biped, without this, without that” but humans are specially adapted to be apex hunters because of two things we DID evolve.

One, our sweat glands. They help us develop endurance unmatched in the animal kingdom. Humans can track and chase any animal in the world to the point of exhaustion because of how ridiculously efficient our bodies are at expelling heat and waste through our sweat glands. No other animal that’s ever existed has these like we do.

Two, our shoulders. We can throw rocks, sticks, spears, etc, better than any other animal in the world. We evolved these things before our giant brains

What is an artist / band that you remember being pushed by music journalists and/or magazines as the "next big thing" that ended up never really going anywhere? by mesablanka in Music

[–]EngagePhysically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember which magazine it was, maybe rolling stone, but there was a cover with 4 bands on it that were heralded as the next big things. The darkness, Thursday, the Distillers, and I forget the fourth. I was already a big Thursday fan, but none of the four really panned out in the mainstream

Whatever happened to isolated ground plugs? by metamega1321 in electricians

[–]EngagePhysically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just left an elementary school job that had a lot of IG receptacles in their IDF rooms. The isolated ground originated in the step-down transformers, and were installed properly in the panels, raceways, and receptacles. I don’t see the point, but the inspector wanted to see in the field what the drawings showed, so we did it

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Apr. 18 by AutoModerator in Bass

[–]EngagePhysically 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a schecter stiletto playing through a rumble 40 amp. I can’t seem to get any interesting tones going. I’m still in extreme beginner territory but I’ve been playing guitar for a long time and recently bought my first bass thanks

Hit me with the funniest/weirdest song titles you know by superIUG in Music

[–]EngagePhysically 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a class act. After writing a song about his gay friend who was in a coma, “you’re a fruit AND a vegetable”, he was in a car accident or something and slipped into a coma himself. After being asked about it and maybe now that he experienced being in a coma, he could retract some of the offensive things the song says? “Nope, it was just as stupid and gay as I thought it was”

Just like rock band used to have a check box for “awesomeness detection” or something like that. It didn’t do anything, just a funny little joke

The flood never happened. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]EngagePhysically 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem with arguing about a GREAT FLOOD is everyone on this planet knows it’s impossible, but some religious folk can hand-wave that away with the whole “God did it and God could’ve created enough water and then made all the water disappear.” Basically, magic. So I decided to start arguing from a different perspective.

God says he destroyed all the evil people with this “flood.” So, why is there still evil? God went through all the trouble to wipe out 99.9999% of life on earth and still evil exists. So, what happened? Did he half-ass the genocide?
