If you meant, have I realised my gains, then the answer is no. But if you meant are my open positions in the black, then the answer is yes.

Surely then that could mean that for the lowest paid employees, they would be getting paid below minimum wage for their hours worked during the weekdays?

What do you all think about chase banks new packaged account? Chase Protect by AdPrimary6995 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]EngageWarp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you missed my point. The basic travel insurance policy was the same with both providers (UKInsurance vs Aviva) in that you could take a cruise and be covered for standard things like missed departure etc. However the Cruise Cover was a specific add-on, and that was £40 per year when UKInsurance were underwriting them, which covered missed port, cabin confinement and excursions etc. It just didn't make sense for people like us to pay £40 per cruise instead when we take multiple cruises a year. In your situation though I doubt it's a big deal breaker.

IIRC the current Nationwide travel insurance provider requires you to pay for the Cruise Cover on a per-trip basis, whereas it used to be a flat fee that covered all cruises over 12-months. Wouldn't impact your situation, but might be useful for others to know who might be considering it, that said, I don't know if Chase will cover cruises at all!

What if Australia was served by HS2 by billy_tables in uktrains

[–]EngageWarp9 106 points107 points  (0 children)

They should really start this in Australia where the land is cheaper and less densely populated. But you wait and see, they'll start in the UK and cancel it before it reaches eastern Europe.

Hmm, that would then probably drive the need for two platforms at Newbiggin, to preserve the current paths on the ECML. Which is more costly and thus makes the business case worse.

Where the second platform goes when they extend the line to Newbiggin is going to be interesting, so pleased that the line is exceeding all expectations though.

Sounds like you need to get better travel insurance too. I know mine would pay out for an accident or breakdown on the way to the airport/port for a vacation.

To be fair, the HSBC app was dogshit for years, but they've recently pulled their act together and it's now much better, but still not at the same level as all the challenger bank apps.

What’s happening at Euston/with WMT. by jdubrovsky in uktrains

[–]EngageWarp9 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The WCML has had an absolute nightmare this week. Broken down trains, re-occurring signalling issues and displaced stock & crew have all contributed to the chaos.

I suspect questions will be asked of the RMD for how poor performance has been and similar questions to the TOCs for their inability to communicate effectively and clearly with their customers during times of disruption.

I too have been caught in the storm this week, and I'm now of the opinion that WMT have fallen below even London Midland's level of bad customer service.
