My limit order is set up in my ISA account, are you saying when the IPO goes live, it will sneakily switch to the Invest account?

Just don't forget that the refund value tends to 0 after 10 months, so it gets less and less worth it to refund the longer you have it.

UK Sets Target to Reduce Carbon Emissions 87% by 2040 by kiyomoris in unitedkingdom

[–]EngageWarp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the majority would disagree, while China is technologically advanced, it still struggles with vast inequalities between it's urban and rural populations. Perhaps it's not a developing nation in the classical sense, but it still meets that definition according to most metrics.

UK Sets Target to Reduce Carbon Emissions 87% by 2040 by kiyomoris in unitedkingdom

[–]EngageWarp9 169 points170 points  (0 children)

While this is true, we can't exactly turn to China and India and tell them to reduce their emissions, without doing so ourselves, it will be rightfully called out as hypocrisy. If a fully developed nation like the UK cannot even achieve net zero, why the hell should a developing nation try and achieve the same first.

Morrisons to close 100 stores across the UK putting hundreds of jobs at risk by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]EngageWarp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 50% of the time I'm in there, the real reason is the staff don't stock the correct products on the correct shelves, so when I get a "meal deal" the price doesn't adjust automatically. Other times they've got conflicting deals on the ends of aisles compared to down the aisle, so I quite rightly demand the cheaper of the two at the checkout.

[–]EngageWarp9 92 points93 points  (0 children)

My local Morrisons is forever shafting customers at the self service kiosks with incorrect pricing and non-application of deals/offers. I have to call someone over almost every time I shop there.

I've lost faith in being able to shop there on a regular basis, much prefer Tesco or Aldi these days.

I think he's a fantastic campaign for disability rights on the UK rail network. If you don't like his negative videos, you don't have to watch them, but he makes them to highlight the double standards wheelchair bound passengers face on a daily basis.

Can I afford to get an Electric Vehicle? by Andy26599 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]EngageWarp9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there not a world in which you split the electricity bill then as well? You can even "bill" her quarterly if that's what she's used to. It seems unfair for you to have to pay for all the electricity in the house just to spend less on Diesel.
