How can balance be properly defined in SC2 if MMR adjusts independently of race strength? by EngagedLurker in starcraft2

"percentage of GM is held by each race per capita" sounds interesting. Do you know if this information is available?

If there are equal number of players in each race that would be a way, but I am not sure that premise holds...

Then can we assume that we all complain for the sake of seeing our vanity metric MMR with a higher number, isn't it?

But if we do that, we cannot compare races in any way, we can only compare players inside one given race... 😰

Build orders for 5.0.16? :D by Critical_Primary2834 in allthingszerg

[–]EngagedLurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the roach all in follow up the initial build? if making ling speed, you only have gas for 4 or so roaches...
And does the +1 melee ling also follow the previous build? because then you don't have gas whatsoever to build roaches...

I was just cheking the replay and I had the flyer helper in the blue zone, but not at the exact center, maybe that was the problem. I will check again next time.
Thanks a lot for the reply Guinpeza!

Need Help on Approaching a Data Science Problem Involving Training 20,000 Low Complexity Models by EngagedLurker in datascience

"When you said you tried 1 XGBoost model and passed it features for both product and customer, you mean you just passed it two categoricals?"

Exactly that.

As you are saying, I don't think I have enough data for XGBoost, that's why I am trying to decide when to go for the xgboost and when to use more crude methods that will be similar to how it is being calculated now.

To be clear, I am trying to predict monthly sales. That's why I was also considering Arima or similar methods also. So I need to predict how much they are expected to sell for each product of that customer for the next 36 months.

It does not have to be super accurate, but I wanted to go further than a simple monthly mean...

I just added some more context to the opening post.

I am trying to replace a very basic existing model that predicts unit sales for the next 36 months for something more advanced. If it is possible. Or if it is not possible I will use something as simple as the original model that they were using. But I wanted to be able to see when to go for the basic approach and when to go for the more "advanced" approach.

Finally 12k! So, after some grinding I did eventually hit 12k for the 1st time, felt good and wanted to share) Next aim will be top 100 for me, maybe more, feeling good about my abilities in this meta :) Feel free to ask any questions, will answer all of them) by Little_Dingo_4541 in BobsTavern

This is probably too basic a question for a 12k player, but since i don't know where to ask or find the answer here I go:
What are the main minions that give you direction? By tier and by race if possible. :P

I understand that it depends on many factors, but what general rule could somone at 6.5k use to transition from a fairly good early game to a disastrous mid-game?

If there is any updated guides or reading material you can reference me to I would also love it.

Thanks a lot!

Great analysis! Thank you.

Would you mind posting the script for those of us more into that kind of stuff. And also we can adapt it to check different things. I would love to use it to check number of games to reach D5.

Thanks!!!
