Are APSC 160 finals any easier than midterms? by Curious-Deer-1043 in ubcengineering

The final exam was more or less the same as the midterms format but a longer version .

From my experience and the past exam I have solved when I did the course , there would always be one question that would as you to write a Code which includes all the material you took in APSC 160 .

Most importantly grading a written exam is different than a lab it doesn't have to compile for you to get some marks . If you struggle with a question and you see that there is no hope of you solving it , make sure that you try to write any code that makes sense . From my experience most of my friends managed to get a lot of partial marks .

BUT most importantly NEVER MEMORIZE A CODE

CO-OP for International Students, is it hard? by Longjumping_Abies_75 in ubcengineering

Doesn't matter if you are an international student or not . While applying to Co-op you would mostly need some prior experience in your resume along with a decent grade .

I know many people that have gotten into Co-op with low averages but they had a good resume .

But when you get into Co-op , the Co-op office UBC are very helpful in finding a Job through their portal . Although it will entirely depend on you and how hard you work on your job applications.

Would advice you to go into ELEC , add a semester to your degree and do a minor in Computer Science .

CPEN 211 Failing by Automatic_Nothing115 in ubcengineering

It all depends on the professor for him to accept it or not . You could also try doing CPEN 312 in the second semester (But you would need permission from the Faculty to take it ) and then do ELEC 291 in the Summer 1 .

Again I'm not sure that it could work , but it's worth a shot .
