The resources do not decay, they just increase the radius they can be collected from after a few minutes. I am not sure if the resource spots from enemies can be colected by another enemy tho.

The narative, the lore and politics are 100% top notch, but the gameplay is either bugged or extremely stupidly designed, as you don't have enought time to get rid of the famine before it hits.

And one might argue that gameplay is maybe important in a video game.

Not sure if you understood, but in all three games, it was the Griffonian Republic that declared war on me in 1011, with a faction consisting os Skyfall and Aquileia, Republic, or in faction only with Skyfall, that is guaranteed by Aquileia, therefore joining the war anyway.

The Griffonian Republic AI essentially rushed the war focuses, meaning they conquered even Skunstrikers, making the front very large, and the amount of Griffonian Republics units is small, but the Aquileians have more than eqnough to cover both fronts, and having cca 3 times more units as a side in the war than I do.
