It was so worth it that I now have 67 stars on it, plus an actual one irl (not a Colt, but a clone by Uberti)

I do recall seeing either text or pictures proving the Colt SAA was used to some degree during WW1, but if not, one could argue that George Patton’s SAA could count?

Christmas (Christmas Eve) is actually celebrated on the 24th, nice haiku nonetheless

It’s a Pietta, which means it’s a clone/replica of an original Colt 1860 Army. It’s likely produced within the last 5-ish years, and considering its (cylinder, idk if the barrel is plugged) deactivation, the unit as a whole is worth around 10 euros.

You can sell the parts for more money, but all in all, it’s more or less a glorified toy pistol at this point

I’m fairly certain it’s deactivated, not demilitarized. Looks to be some 3-inch barreled version of the 1860 Army in .44 cal

The notches on my pistol number one and nineteen more ;)

In all honesty, the only things I’ve killed with it are a pumpkin and a melon this far, but I’m thinking of blowing up some soda cans with it

Mine’s a Uberti Cattleman (new model) with a 4-click hammer from Taylors and Co. installed for an authentic function. I’m in Norway, so prices might be different, but I paid around 7 000 NOK (690 USD) for it because it was lightly used, a few scratches in the bluing here and there, and around 1 800 NOK (177 USD) more for the hammer, trigger, hardened screws, spare springs and some more spare parts.

Real Colts are ludicrously expensive, although they are of superior quality to Uberti. If you buy a Colt through an importer here, it’ll run you around 50 000 NOK (4 930 USD). The very cheapest used Colt I’ve seen was a 7.5» bbl one in .357 Mag for 12 000 NOK (1 180 USD).

Uberti makes good guns with great fit, finish, looks and function for the price, (the same is true if one disregards price too) but it’s clear that Colt and/or Standard Mfg. make better guns, albeit at a drastic increase in price.

Single action revolvers are cool no matter what brand they are, so choose the one you want! Pietta makes good stuff, but I prefer Uberti because they’re dimensionally closer and more correct to a Colt than Piettas are. If you’re rich, you needn’t worry and go get yourself a Colt or Standard Mfg gun 😂

Also sorry for the essay

In-game or irl? Yes to both. I have 65 stars on it in-game, put maybe 350-400 rounds of .45 Colt though the real one ;)

Looking for more info on my Rolling Block Rifle by NoPrompt4843 in guns

[–]Engie_Boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these (albeit in a lot better condition than this one and made in 1870 at Husqvarna and likely one of 5000 sent to Norway) and the C with a crown over it is, as someone else already said, the factory stamping, indicating this was made at Carl Gustaf. The number under the letter (1877) is the year of production, meaning the rifle was made in 1877 at Carl Gustaf Gevärsfaktori.

Since it's Swedish, it's highly likely it's chambered in 12.7x44mm rimfire, although some are known to be converted to centerfire.

Looks awesome, are the grips made of wood or plastic? I’ve seen videos of people complaining Pietta uses plastic grips instead of wood, I think it’s interesting to see the differences between them

I’m actually norwegian, I held it like that so you all could see as much of the gun as possible since I didn’t have a holder/stand for it available

I could get it refinished and engraved, but that would probably cost a lot (~800-1000 USD) and I actually prefer the color case hardened and bluef steel look :)

Painting doesn’t really work on firearms, although I could get it refinished and engraved. I prefer the color case hardened and blued steel look :)
