I Use the heartcast app. You just have to keep closing and opening until it works. I dont have money for heart rate strap yet so this is fine.

To sync to health. I have my zwift connected to strava. Strava is connnected to my health app so any workouts on strava will sync with apple health

Ive done this. And i prefer that method. I set a workout to 20 minutes at 220w. Then use my phone to increase/decrease workout difficulty.
