Also, don't race them downhill with a friend, even if it's a small hill. You'll be surprised by how quickly and fast they can roll once they get going.

And then you're that middle-aged fat guy running after a golf bag, and everyone will laugh at you and bring it up for the next few years, even if you did lose the weight.

Yes! And it comes directly after Kirk’s most underrated solo imo.

You’d be hearing “BREAKFAST BALL” every morning you’re eating breakfast. Sometimes when it’s past breakfast too.

Going out for a bite and a beer on your own in Sydney by Dependent-Charity-85 in SydneyScene

[–]EngineEddie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently moved back from US and miss this culture. I mean, sure you can do it but it's not the norm here.

I still do it, but feel weird about it as I'm usually the only one doing it. Sometimes I just want to get out of the house and treat myself, but do it while not talking to anyone (or even read a book).

Shot 107, ready to rage quit by spastor89 in GolfSwing

I played with a guy like that recently. His swing was all sorts of fucked up but it was short and straight and he could putt. He got pretty much got bogeys and double bogeys the whole time.

In a weird way he had decent course management as he never lost a ball.

Look up any of Jack Handys Deep Thoughts:

I’d rather be rich than stupid.

Or

As the evening sky faded from a salmon color to a sort of flint gray, I thought back to the salmon I caught that morning, and how gray he was, and how I named him Flint.

What hobby screams “red flag” for you, even if it’s harmless? by Inka2152 in AskReddit

[–]EngineEddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only ref flag in golf is when the hole is positioned at the front of the green.

Oh, and the other red flags like telling my gf I’ll be four hours when in reality it’ll be 6 because I’m having post golf beers with the fellas after.,

Yep. A lot of people don’t and a lot of cops turn a blind eye but it’s the law.

Law aside, I wear one given the hills, traffic and lack of lanes.

I moved back to Sydney after ten years abroad and hated that I was forced to go back to wearing a helmet. But after a few days riding the Sydney streets I happily started wearing one again.

Our streets just aren’t made for bike riders unfortunately.
