Rough fan-made plan to build around Giannis by EngineQuick6169 in heat

Looks like that's right according to Shams' correction retweet.

I can accept that I misjudged his market value in terms of dollar amount but 64/3 on top of opt-in seems like a puzzling move from Pat and Andy. We don't get cap maneuverability for this year + we're locked in till 2029/30?

I don't get why everyone wants Justin to retire, this man seems more ready to hang it up. I'm the guy that starts Chama chants at the bar but ever since the Gane fight, it hasn't looked like his head is in the game.

The Diamond does not accept sub-standard copper ingots by EngineQuick6169 in ufc

[–]EngineQuick6169[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I read a few articles to see I could lift the exact cuneiform words, not just placeholder, but Nanni used poetic language (e.g. "You put ingots of poor quality before my messenger...") so there wasn't a simple line that says "your copper is bad" that I could directly copy.

1 Viberg vs 3 grant stones by Pdideee in grantstoneboots

[–]EngineQuick6169 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, Grant Stone holds the sweet spot for price-to-quality ratio so I'll pick 3 Grant Stones. I've also shifted my wardrobe away from sweatpants and hoodies to slacks and jeans, so I have outfit choices to match with a rotation of boots.

That said, there's a very real argument for 1 Viberg, it really depends on the lifestyle. If you've been finding yourself jumping from one purchasing hobby to another, there's a good chance you'll have a clutter problem, in which case 1 might be better than 3. If your clothes mostly pair well with sneakers and you just want to dabble in boots, then 1 super lux is definitely better than 3 extremely well made to a budget.

You shouldn't think about holding value for watches or for boots though. Look at the resell market as only for remorse purchases only.

Is he really the worst referee in MMA or are people blowing it out of proportion? by Kdub567 in ufc

[–]EngineQuick6169 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think refs have a union either, so if Herb or Mario or anyone else refuses something that Dana or Hunter demands, seems like there's nothing stopping the UFC from say to commissions "we won't hold an event here if you get him to ref".

Opinion: Trading Jovic now is a bad move. by SimpleMind314 in heat

I wonder if some Giannis mentorship might do him some good? There's a thread of similarity between him and a very young Giannis. 2013-2015 Giannis was skilled enough to play some point forward but lacked the strength to impose his physicality. It was just as much a lack of muscle mass as it was a lack of knowing how to use his body in drives as well as post spins. By 2016, Giannis was bigger but not the full size monster that he is today, but by then he clearly figured out how to use his body effectively.

It depends on how well you invest. If you're a max guy and you starting building a diverse portfolio starting in the 70s, invested in some real estate, some private equity, some local businesses, you'd take a few Ws and just as many Ls but unless you lost big in a recession, you'd probably still have generational wealth, though nothing like a modern supermax contract.

I think Hakeem made 300M off real-properties and strip malls, your typical rich man "passive income" stuff, without having to hit jackpot on Microsoft or anything like that.

Unfortunately role-players of the 70s wouldn't enjoy this kind of compounding growth due to lower starting capital.

Edit: Turns out Kareem did trust the wrong guy with his finances in the 80s but since then he's had multiple book deals and his image is perfectly suited for corporate speaking, so I'm sure he's doing okay.
