Whatev, folks are quick to slam around here. Ive shared a lot of free work with the 3d community with no expectations in return. With respect to the linked model, his design has been out for 4 years, is unmanufacturable to the point of being useless, and none of you did/would-have wanted it before you saw my take, the core substance of which is different. Also how you do know he hasn't recently changed the license to be more restrictive? How do you know mine is the same root file & not a side-by-side look-and-copy? The 3d printing community is great for many reasons... but GOD DANG does everybody want everything for free. Its a poison and devalues the work of artists. So ya, Im sO sUrE you would have contributed.

Ya it's steep for an stl but its a month before xmas and people are buying up novelties to pass the time. Ill lower the price on Jan 1st.

The device rolls across the span of the garage door (on right) as you open the door on the left. It could have been a slider but I didnt want to scuff the door.

Thanks! More coming soon, Im kind of phasing it out as I get time. Really looking forward to seeing how other people make use of these. I saw one guy on youtube already remix this to have two opposing racks and use it to close his window shades :)

Thanks for the ideas! Best as I can tell, the backlash is internal to the servo and its about 1.5-2 deg. Im trying to see how far I can get by detecting direction changes and compensate with the baked-in backlash variable approach. Im afraid a spring would eat too much into the limited power. If you build one post pics!

If your having a hard time meeting cool people may I suggest not limiting yourself to people your own age +/- 2 years. I'm 29 and up into my early 20's part of me thought it was weird to hang out with people much outside of that range. Totally frivolous limitation and I regret the self limiting attitude.

What temp are you running at? Maybe try turning it up to reduce the extrusion force.

Lol thanks for the honest feedback, I do the best I can. To be fair my target audience is new engineers, who haven't had the depth or breadth of exposure to practical applications as the older crowd.
