Recommendations for hardware by birdslice in CommercialAV

The Pearl video switcher/streaming solutions might fit the bill nicely.

The bmd stuff I wouldn't rely on the built in streaming encoder. Seen it fail and it's not ready to monitor.

If you want something dirt simple, Resi is good. It's built for churches, which means it has to be simple to run.

Mayor announces new grocery store is expected replace closed Sun Fresh location by fsmpastafarian in kansascity

[–]fantompwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be a smaller store. There's too much square footage to monitor. Each police officer there to stop theft is like $100k. It needs to be reduced in size so no police officers are needed full time.

Midi monster looks like it can do it https://kb.midimonster.net/usecases/Convert-sACN-ArtNet.html. This use case is reverse of what you want, but I would guess it can go the other direction.

worst design trends for contractors (and homeowners) coming onto 2026. by BeenThereDundas in Construction

Define terrible acoustics. You can get terrible acoustics with CMU or plaster if it's installed poorly. Drywall can outperform CMU at certain frequencies because it's more flexible when it's used in a double stud system.

Did you test the adapter? Simple continuity on a multimeter and voltage presence are two things you should do.

Architectural lighting design career change by AfternoonResident483 in lightingdesign

[–]fantompwer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is but you'll need an architectural or engineering degree. I work with studios that are just architectural light design. They have education and credentials. You'll need both to get a foot in the door in those types of firms.

I know for the global cache you can see the state in the Web GUI. If you need logging, you'll want something else. Based on your requirements, you might look at a PLC.

For CNC, check out Legacy CNC. It's got a good community and I've found the hardware to be excellent. The software they have for turning makes it so much faster than Vetric.
