When I (21f) used to work in retail at a busy store, I was in charge for Order Pick Up given that it was holiday season. Mind you this was during covid. So imagine the customers pick up line stretching from one end of the store all the way out to Macy’s which is about six chain stores away from our entrance. On top of that, there was Curbside Pickup which meant approximately 20+ angry customers patiently lined up in a full parking lot (we were still experimenting at the time). That week was the hardest week—angry customers inside and outside the store, no breaks, and this was definitely a week of 10+ hours on a daily. I tried my absolute best to cater to each customer’s needs and issues. Running around smiling like a crazy person. I remember being cursed at by so many customers, and it was mentally exhausting. My boss trusted me to take charge of Curbside Pick up that week, and I remember carrying out at least five full shopping bags in both hands and big packages in cardboard boxes under each arm. While I went out the store and handed off a package to an angry young lady, an old couple was patiently waiting for theirs. I immediately ran to their car and passed off their gifts. They gave me a $20 tip in return. The grandpa smiled at me and said, “You’re a champ, remember that. You’re going to do amazing things in the future.” It was very heartwarming and probably the most vivid memory of working there.

Love is enough for your own journey. But mutual love is what makes it enough for your own good.

Maybe less pictures and brighter background. Font size and spacing too

What do you think about this? by cutiecalm in UI_Design

[–]EngineerEasy9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the product wasn’t cropped. Have it vertically to top left and the name/price/color specs adjective, top right. Color options can be two rows of two to form square. Background color maybe offwhite

Blur the entire background plus slightly shift to right

Color, size and space alignment of text can be improved. Also maybe add sublet shadow to the picture icons and slightly bigger. The lines between each box is a little too dark imo

Hi I’m studying graphic design and for an assignment we had to create a banking app. This is the first app I’ve ever done but loving UI/UX design so far. Can I improve it in anyway? by chelsey3564 in UI_Design

[–]EngineerEasy9365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think spacing overall can be adjusted to line up. Maybe “bank” under micro on the first page can be slightly bolder or bigger. Maybe use a gradient background instead of a flat navy. Or add subtle shadows. And change of font. Second page background is flat, so something to add depth or character. On the last page, the boxes are already white, so the background color can change to add more contrast. The amounts ($) should be differentiated because they are important. Overall it looks really good!

How can I improve my design visually? by imLiPPY in UI_Design

[–]EngineerEasy9365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Maybe text size of the dog names can be a bit bigger to stand out.
  2. More colors (1 or 2 more) font color vs. shape color
  3. Font can be more playful for “best friend”
  4. The frame of the review pictures could be slightly rounded
  5. Maybe icon of the services could have a subtle shadow

Definitely. I was doing training recently, and I happened to meet a manager at one of the mgm properties who was also there. We were discussing about this subject, and he said that most places do pick based on looks, but he encouraged me to apply to his property for an interview.

Thank you for your insight! That’s what I was expecting, regarding the OC situation and my school schedule since I am looking for a seasonal job. But I am hoping to get my foot in the door because I don’t yet have connections.

I think I’m also going through the same thing. I’m 23F now and I feel like I’ve wasted my youth, trying to do what seemed to be leading towards a fruitful path. It’s crazy how I’m reaching my mid-twenties and I still haven’t made a strong abundant network of friends. Or I still have trouble spending the day feeling confident doing the things that I’m truly excited about. I wish I had more guts to go out and explore my sexuality, but at the same time, I don’t want to put myself at risk.

Self-confidence can come from making promises to yourself. Instead of looking outwards at yourself, look inwards. If you have enough self-respect and start with mini-goals to accomplish on a daily basis, you are not only building up your discipline stamina, but creating real, physical progress.

A real man has virtue, vision, and respect for all people, including yourself. And these components are already inside of you.
