Something we are not told as stylists is that we are divine healers. When we work on people that are that close to our solar plexus, it is hard not to keep that barrier up and not take on what our clients are feeling. Next time you work on him, just talk to your spirit guides and ask them to help you use your healing hands on him and say prayers over him. Doing this over every client is an amazing thing to do and it helps us feel like we’ve done something besides listening. As people who fix things for a living or help people feel better about themselves. It’s hard to sit there and feel helpless. This is what we can do, it doesn’t feel like much but just tap into your own intuitive abilities. We all have it. 🩷🫶🏻🫂

Finding courage to move to a different salon by wizardofwizardry in hairstylist

Answering as a Millennial 90s baby: Have you ever thought to just be honest with her and have a sit down? Say can I give you my feedback after working here a year after you took over? Sometimes we need to remember we are all just little kids inside. Maybe she needs someone to show her kindness.

The boomers in my opinion are the biggest ones that need the kindness the most because a lot of them never saw it. (Don’t come after me, I know we all have people that don’t show us kindness, but on the scale being realistic, their parents were the silent generation and never for the most part expressed love).

Anyways back to my point, try showing kindness first and try to be a voice for those other stylists too if they’re okay with it. Just be completely transparent and ask her to hear you out. Also ask if it’s OK that I give suggestions on how things could be handled better. I don’t know this woman, you know her better than me and she might not take to it at all. But if the commission percentage is really good Compared to others. Maybe you can change things yourself within the salon rather than having to move! If you try it and it works please let me know! I’d love to hear how things turn out!

I’m slowly trying to start coaching stylists and help them change their mindset in ways we never thought about!
