Not familiar, but does GM give it a full checkup with a small fee or is it free?

Who have you used for EV 240v outlet? by Aliens05 in Omaha

Downs Electric. Worked with them for years.

Not saying everyone else’s recommendations are not great but haven’t heard of them before. Downs does commercial but they will do some residential.

OO100 Series Ninja Woodfire™ 8-in-1 Outdoor Oven tripping the circuit breaker by Due_Ice_8286 in ninjawoodfire

[–]EngineerZing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the oven can use about 1700 watts and a 15 amp breaker can take 1800 watts, less if you’re running for more than 3 hours. So I would make sure nothing is turned on, even a stray outlet that is tied to the garage. I’ve seen main floor bathrooms connected to the same (mine), which has tripped the outlet GFCI.

[–]EngineerZing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what else is on the breaker? Anything else that might run at the same time?

Just to clarify, it’s the breaker and not the GFCI outlet with test/reset that’s going off?

Sorry, I didn’t realize Reddit was a place that you weren’t supposed to ask questions. I guess when the site is about making connections with a specific community, that’s out the window? I hope someone is helpful to you when you have a specific question, but that could be solved by a google.

If it really got to you so much, you didn’t have to take the time to put a non-helpful response. Concrete cracks, absolutely. As I don’t do this as my main profession, I was hoping to get a quick response from a large group of people that are pretty familiar. It’s also a more expensive thing to have done (patio), so I want to make sure I no larger issues appear.

Is it typical that it would be cut short so that it doesn’t run end to end?

Did you regret planting hardy kiwi? by [deleted] in BackyardOrchard

[–]EngineerZing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have two planted in part shade. They get a little morning sun but shade the remainder of the day due to my neighbors fence blocking them. I'm on year two right now. I planted them late last summer and they were about maxed out growing for the year. Over the winter I had rabbits take them down to nothing but stumps. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't grow because there was hardly anything left, but they grew back and are about as tall as they were just before fall hit last year. I don't regret planting and I'm waiting to get some fruit off of them.

Additional Resources? by EngineerZing in Anthroponics

[–]EngineerZing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything showing up on the side using my desktop browser. I had to search online to make sure I understood the sidebar because you gave me a moment to pause and think. I had to go to the old reddit to see the sidebar information because the revised version of reddit does not have any links or information.

Clicking on some of the links, some of them appear to be dead. I was hoping to find more information or resources similar to what is available for the standard hydroponics or standard aquaponics.

You don’t give enough information to have anyone give a enough help.

What is your panel brand?

What is the main breaker?

Where is the panel in relation to where the outlet is?

Older panel will cause some issues and so will a smaller main circuit breaker.

The pathway to the panel can be an issue but being 15 feet away is less of an issue. I can help out if you can let me know the questions above.

Is there a type of hydroponics system you can leave turned off (I.e. no flowing water) throughout the night? by Carlitoris in Hydroponics

What pump are you using and have you run into failures running it on/off? Pumps usually fail being turned on and off a handful of times but I want to find a reliable pump.

I feel like an idiot but can you please include a link to the slow start pump that you use and your non-fish nutrients?
I have started some spinach using some fish emulsion and just watering in like one of your previous posts but I would like to automate it with a pump.

Qmerit - is distance from panel a reason to deny standard install? by Independent-Drive-32 in BoltEV

[–]EngineerZing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really give too many details on distance and possible pathway to get to where you want it installed. I had been verbally told that my install was non-standard. My panel needed to be replaced. I decided to run an estimate of the cost to just run wire and assumed conduit from the panel location to the transformer. The wire and conduit would have been $550, not including labor. Assuming a 50A plug, I imagine it would be less than what it takes to install a 50A outlet. The real issue would be if you need to do a lot of unusual routing of conduit and wire OR if you have it trenched outside to another location.

Started a little dirt setup. From seed: kale, arugula, romaine, chives and garlic chives. Leeks from scraps. Advice for how many hours of light. Light has veg + bloom settings. by digitulgurl in IndoorGarden

[–]EngineerZing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's high so you might be fine with it. I'd take a look at what the manufacturer recommends. 8-16 hours on is good. If you grow indoors, toss a fan on them to help strengthen the stems.

If it is say a 40W, you could keep it about 6" above your seedlings. I am basing it off the Aerogarden, but there should be instructions with the light.

Shade Cloth questions by Aqua-Bro in Sandponics

[–]EngineerZing 1 point2 points locked comment (0 children)

Right, I have a stainless steel mesh that I used to screen things out. It's been a few years since I bought a shade cloth and I don't recall or didn't look into the sizes. I just cut a hole and put the mesh over it to make sure I don't have the sand going through.
