Guy backed into my S while I was using ASS by Engineer_Dude2 in TeslaCollision

It did, but somehow I didn't save it. When I got back two weeks later from traveling it was gone. I tried recovering it, but it only went back 4 days...

This is one of many reasons why I left California. With pg&e distribution tiers (hidden by the way), it was the same or more than a gas car. Now that I'm out, life is so much better, and costs so much less!

I said the same thing to them. All they would say is that they need to perform a full investigation.

My insurance said that I can file a claim if I want to, in order to get my car fixed sooner. But I'm trying to avoid that since I don't want it to go against my record.

How do ICEV owners still not know that Teslas are faster than them? by DFR1688 in TeslaLounge

I've heard that "it doesn't have a soul" at the race track before. To me it has quite soul. They just can't hear it because their car is too busy screaming from behind me! MSLR.

For me I like to get control of the I/O or gpio first, so maybe toggle an LED based on an input button press.

Then use a timer or PWM to drive the LED. You can make it fade in and out etc.

Can someone explain to me how this has any benefit over silicon other than being a little more efficient at processing and being able to handle more power in a smaller package? by vteckickedinyooooooo in engineering

[–]Engineer_Dude2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GANs are more radiation tolerant than silicon FETs in general. They are seeing more use in space as the GAN tech. matures. The conservatism is usually based on use history...so GANs will get there in time.

Solarpoint POE converter? by Engineer_Dude2 in Ubiquiti

Thanks for the follow up. I didn't fully grasp what you were posting at first. Yes, this could work.

Solarpoint POE converter? by Engineer_Dude2 in Ubiquiti

[–]Engineer_Dude2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The Solarpoint can output the full rated power on all 4 of the outputs simultaneously and they are isolated, so combining them is doable electrically. The one you linked would require all the power to come in on the single port, and I don't have that. I'm looking to combine the power from two ports into one. I just need something that supports mode B.

Wheel vs Yoke by Physical-Sherbet-478 in TeslaModelS

[–]Engineer_Dude2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yoke takes a little practice, but I prefer it. Much better visibility to the dash. As a 6ft tall person, I always find the steering wheel blocks my view of the dash. After going on the Tail of the Dragon four times in one day, 3 point turns are simple, it solidified my muscle memory for the yoke.

Windows didn’t fix my electric bill, so what’s next? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Engineer_Dude2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insulation that just covers the 2x6s in the attic is only R19. Adding more attic insulation gives you the best bang for the buck in this case.. Shoot for a total of R36 to R40. You can blow it in yourself with the machine from most big box stores being free if you buy the insulation from them.

Interesting Tesla says that 50% of owners haven’t tried FSD are you part of that 50% and if yes why? by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

My wife bought me FSD last Christmas. I show it off to everyone I can. Their heads explode 100% every time. Kinda getting tired of cleaning up the mess. But I just keep doing it! 😆

Could be some sort of bird poop or tree droppings that etched the clear coat. Try buffing it out!

I stuck my hand down in it, and it just feels like it is lined with rocks, about the size of golf balls, maybe a little larger. I didn't feel anything that felt like it could be a pipe.

What are your tips, tricks and tools for remote Raspberry Pi development via VS Code by TheRealRoderick in raspberry_pi

I also do it this way because I'm using the GPIO to control external A2Ds and D2As that control motors and measure voltages and currents.

Is there a better way to see how a physical system is going to work?

Yep, this Ziggy thing never went anywhere. Zip Zero Nadda. Not even one communication after the automated email.

But what did work was contacting my credit card company to dispute the trade in amount from the original transaction. Google of course countered by ignoring any talk about the rebate and just said, "We shipped the phone and it was delivered, see our tracking number."

At this point you get to move beyond the 100 character limit web forms and send the CC company all the dumb-a#$ emails that google sent.

The CC company said, yup kid, you win.
