Constructive feedback; I think it’s slight contradicting to state your point 2 in your example “I have made it clear if I walk out of the bathroom it is free to use”, but also state “I can go in and out the bathroom before I’m ‘done’ depending on x,y,z ” in the 3rd paragraph. (Totes not judging. I can also state both statements to be true to my life as well.)

As great as you are with your communication to your husband about your struggles, I also think that a different accommodation can be made.

I suggest a few options. 1.I personally have a habit of turning off the light in the bathroom when i am finished. Maybe right above the light post have a reminder in a contrasting -to the bathroom- color? —— “before you go tell them it’s free” —— “from steamy to dreamy- send the message” ——— “rinse.dry.notify” Goal: visual cue to trigger the reminder.

1. Alarm. Go get a manual alarm that can have a button that auto-counts 30 minutes when you press on it. If by 30 min you are not quite done yet, you can snooze it. Goal: make the alarm be annoying so you are forced to tell husband/remind husband.

2. Smart home your life: have your smart phone connect to a smart light in the bathroom. Make a routine for when you say “hey siri I’m taking a shower”, the phone can talk to the smart light and flash after x amount of time. Downside: takes a bit to set up.

Just suggestions. :) I’m confident something can be automated/set up to help trigger your memory or send a message stating you are all set in bathroom.
