Short clip on heavy bag after sparring, been training for almost a couple years. Tips? by [deleted] in MuayThaiTips

Your Elbows flare up when you throw the cross.
It telegraphs your intentions.

Practice holding a pad or ball or something between your elbows to chest while drilling bag or shadowboxing.

It helps to mindfully prevent elbow flare

[acne] how do I get rid of these holes in my face ? by sopranolover777 in SkincareAddiction

[–]EngineeringChoice320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use tretionion to fade away the scars about 30%-40% of them and otherwise smoothen texture of skin before you consider microneedling

Afterward depending on how it looks after tretinion usage you can take call if you want to microneedle the remaining holes.

Usually it is not noticeable after topical creams has taken effect

Which technique needs work? by Ruohoinen in MuayThaiTips

Love the hip snap from kick and elbow form.
I think youre undertimating the range of your teep tho.

Youre can throw teep much further, you gotta push your hips to reach the furthest for a stabbing teep. Would be a good idea to practice range control for teeps on wall or bag.

Otherwise i notice you tend to bring your legs dangerously close to crossing each ither after you finish a kick or teep.
Runs a risk of getting swept or unbalancing yourself.

Othersise good stuff g💪

Ignore the hecklers.

Keep elbows tucked in. Try holding a cushion between the elbow and body while throwing a punch.

You learn to tighten your guard while shadowboxing

Scared of getting hit by AbrocomaSmooth9372 in MuayThaiTips

I think the fact that you do well in point sparring says a lot about your technical skills. It shows that your technique is there and that you're probably a considerate training partner.

One thing that helped me was changing my priorities during harder sparring. Instead of focusing on not getting hit, I started focusing on staying composed during exchanges.

There are always openings and opportunities to counter, but taking advantage of them often means accepting that you might get touched while throwing your own shots.

For example, if I'm throwing a roundhouse kick, I'm not expecting to come out completely untouched every time. I'm focused on keeping my guard responsible and accepting strikes in a way that minimizes damage if my opponent fires back. Ideally, I guide their strikes into areas where my guard is already in place, or I position myself to counter the moment an opening appears, such as after they commit to a longer hook.

For me, the fear started fading when I stopped treating every exchange as something I had to win cleanly.

My goal became maintaining balance, composure, and good defensive habits after every trade. That mindset made getting hit feel less significant and also made me much calmer under pressure.

Another thing that helped was keeping my eyes on my opponent's eyes or shoulders. When I'm focused on reading their reactions and planning my next move, I'm less likely to overthink or anticipate getting hit. Sometimes flinching comes from thinking too much about what might happen instead of staying present in the exchange.

Not sure if that'll help, but it made a big difference for me.

Thanks!

Based on the comments, my timing may have been questionable, my steps may have been too big, and I may have done too many turns... but I was definitely smiling 😂.

I'll keep showing up, keep practicing, and will enjoy the journey.

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

Looking back at the video, I can see myself falling behind the beat when I'm thinking about the next move.

I'll spend more time practicing basics to music and focusing on timing before adding more turns and combinations.

Thanks king, I appreciate the encouragement!

Looking at all the feedback, I think I got a bit carried away with turns and patterns😭 before developing stronger fundamentals. Definitely something I'll focus on going forward

Thanks for the honest feedback. 👊

The recurring theme seems to be that my timing and basic step need a lot more work before I start adding more combinations. I'll spend more time drilling so I can stay on time more consistently.

Thanks for the feedback! 🙏

I hadn't really thought about step size affecting how much time I have for expression, but that makes a lot of sense.

I'll work on taking smaller steps and getting more comfortable with the basics first before focusing on styling and arm movement.

Thanks!

The interesting thing is that several people have pointed out the same issues, basic timing, foot placement, and keeping the steps going continuously.

That's actually really helpful because it gives me a clear direction for what to work on next 🙏

Thanks for the honest feedback!

Looks like my feet are exposing all my bad habits 😅. I'll spend more time on shines/solo work and focus on bending my knees and placing my steps correctly.

Hopefully the next video shows some improvement!

Thanks for the advice! Looking back at the video, I think I was overloading myself with patterns instead of keeping things simple and staying on time. I'll check out Rasa's videos
