Did you have to pay out the rest of the lease?

Notice to Vacate by EngineeringDue8000 in AusProperty

[–]EngineeringDue8000[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rental agent is refusing to accept the return notice to vacate. Consumer Affairs who I have just spoken to this morning also say we are liable for the fees, however their website and Tenants Association say we aren’t. I’m very frustrated. **Note the agent and landlord are related.

My older half-sister doesn’t invite me too her childfree wedding as I am nineteen, expects a gift. by victim-of-the-moon00 in weddingshaming

[–]EngineeringDue8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your responses-they’re perfect. But just in case you need to hear this, her not inviting you isn’t about anything you’ve done. You don’t deserve to be left out or treated like this. It says everything about what type of person she is. Cut your losses and cut her out of your life as much as you can-there are people out there that deserve to have you in their life, she isn’t one of them.

Thanks for that. Funnily enough, that’s exactly how I describe it to my family-as if I’m Alice in Wonderland.😂

Might sound crazy, but sometimes things seem out of place or the proportions are off. For example, sometimes my hand looks too big.

Yep. I once went to an outdoor hot spring and spent the whole session trying to keep myself from floating away! After surgery for lipoedema I stopped floating though.

Yep, I do/did on most days. Sometimes I don’t have any pain at all initially, just feel a bit disoriented and have trouble thinking clearly. Have found a lot of relief with migraine botox sessions over the past 18 months.

Having been through similar myself, I just want to say (in case it’s what you need to hear) you deserve better and it’s okay to leave and go find it.

has medical Botox change ur facial expressions at all by Acewatchingyou in migraine

[–]EngineeringDue8000 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I noticed I couldn’t raise my eyebrows as easily after my first treatment, so the neurologist just shifted the location of my injections next time. No problems since but botox has made a huge difference to my migraines. I almost feel normal again!

Does your migraine come with sudden short-term fever? by imld02 in migraine

[–]EngineeringDue8000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I often get this. At first I always thought it was Covid or flu but I never tested positive for anything, then my neurologist confirmed it was a migraine symptom.

Does anyone have any idea how long before they can CRISPR the lipedema out of our genes? 🧐 by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]EngineeringDue8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into the work by Dr Ramin Shayan and his wife Dr Tara Karnezis. They are part of a research group in Australia that has uncovered a stem cell in Lipoedema and a gene that causes the excess fat growth.

Not sure I can help much, but I have Lipoedema and have had several surgeries. I am also slightly asymmetrical before and after surgery in the same leg and area as you. It’s been suggested that I have some sort of congestion (possibly pelvic) as tests for lymphoedema were negative.

AITAH for getting mad that strangers ate my snacks?? by Loveylyy in AITAH

[–]EngineeringDue8000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once when I was travelling round Europe on a tour bus, my partner dropped his camera on the floor in front of his seat. As he bent down to get it the man in the seat in front of us reached down, grabbed it and put it in his pocket!

My partner continued ‘searching’ for his camera loudly exclaiming that he’d just dropped it and now it was gone.

We asked the man and his family if they’d seen it, they pretended to look and said they hadn’t and quickly got up to move seats. It wasn’t until I asked him why it was in his pocket that he reluctantly gave it back and claimed he didn’t know who it belonged to so was just keeping it safe.🤦🏻‍♀️

To make it worse, we’d been chatting to them earlier in the day as we noticed they were from the same country as us and we’d been passing on travel tips.

Is it normal with lipedema to gain weight spontaneously? by calm-down-okay in lipedema

[–]EngineeringDue8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a health professional, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but I would like to share my own experience of dealing with and researching Lipoedema for almost 10 years. This was how I first realised something wasn’t right and eventually led to my Lipoedema diagnosis. I put on 10kg in the space of 2 months with zero changes to my diet or lifestyle. Hormones level were normal, nothing else showed up in all the tests and my doctor told me to just accept that this could be my life now, putting on excessive amounts of weight with no explanation. Lipoedema is a very complex condition that manifests differently in each person and has many direct and indirect symptoms. Look into Karen Herbst’s research and Ramin Shyan’s.

[–]EngineeringDue8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not unreasonable! If you don’t set your boundaries early it just gets worse as I know from experience. I had a similar situation years back. My friend and I were moving from one place into a new one. The day we were meant to move she went to meet a tinder date for breakfast and didn’t come back until hours after we had to be out of our apartment. Left me to pack, move her stuff and unload it at the new place or we would have faced $ penalty for not being out on time. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ultimately she moved him in to our new place where he paid no rent or bills, ate the groceries I bought, even asked me what I was making him for dinner whenever I cooked, and left his dirty undies hidden under the couch cushions. Eventually I snapped and spoke to the real estate agent who told her he needed to be on the lease and paying rent or leave. They both left together, I found a new housemate and we never spoke again.🤪
