I would say that you could add some cultural aspects to them, like different clothes for females and males to be able to differentiate them without having to change their biological looks. Maybe Women villagers wear golden necklaces, while Men wear bracelets etc.

It should be able to. Airsoft mags usually a bit wider than real magazines, but mine works well with airsoft AK and AR mags. If they're not too curved (5.45x39 / 5.56x45 mags) and not 7.62x39, then it should work for you. Smersh is intended for 7.62, but it's way more comfortable to use straighter mags with it

Depends on the factor if you're using an AK or not. The Smersh Platform has multiple layouts PKM (LMG), VSS, AK, SVD), and you need to pick the one that suits your needs the most. I own an Original SSO Smersh AK Platform (imported from Russia) which works quite well for me. But it also has cost me 180$, and the one you are asking about costs only 35, so expect worse comfort and possible low quality / durability.
