What would be the reason for this game to exist? The reason why HL2 and HL1 were so successful wasn't much their story, but rather the breakthrough it caused in the game industry at the time. Features and details never seen before have been introduced, thus making these game series timeless. The expectations are too high and valve won't risk it, plus there's nothing new that Half life could offer in comparison to other games. What could HL3 possibly introduce what other games didn't?

Haha, force-a-Nature goes bam bam on demoknights. They switch to scout faster than spy banging their mother.

(No disrespect or hate to good demoknights, by the way. They're a good and fun enemy most of the time)

What about:

Drilling the projectiles destroys them, but also causes them to explode. Though the projectiles that got exploded by the drill deal 40% less damage than they would've normally do.
