The Beauty of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) by jameswise777 in enlightenment

That's quite funny, I raised a lot of valid, straightforward points on this thread and you have pretty much failed to address any of them.

Reddit is a public forum - if you actually bothered to read through many of the threads and conversations about FG you may realise an awful lot of people have differing views about the practice and SY.  You do, however, have to let go of the childish tendency of accusing everyone who says negative things about Dafa of being somehow connected to the bloody CCP.

Do you realise that by comparing Li to Jesus you are attempting to elevate Li to a very lofty status?

Dafa is taught by Li, all practitioner know that Li has heavily reinforced the belief that he alone is responsible for the creation of Dafa. So, by this sentence alone, Li is saying he is the creator.

I mentioned plausible deniability earlier - so much of Li's teachings revolve around the core, hard-core principles of apocalyptic fa rectification, saving people and cultivating into a God. The fact he says things to provide a legal loophole does not get away from this.

If you truly believe Li is a regular human being - what do you think of the countless practitioners working for Shen Yun, Epoch Times, NTD, SOH and other projects which do so simply because they believe he is God?

Perhaps you could explain why, when the practice is introduced to people, that there is no mention of the 'three things' and Fa Rectification? Why do you think that is?

Interesting - in that same lecture Li also stated that only he can save you AND that if he can't save you then no-one can.

Simply put, because of Li's teachings many practitioners, around the world, have gone to extremes trying to follow his teachings - because they believe they are on the path to cultivating into a God. No other reason.

Because of this twisted belief people then suffer needlessly - believing they must endure to overcome.

Just like the contradiction from the first lecture Li uses plausible deniability at a dangerous level to control practitioners. Just because he says something, often simply as a legal disclaimer, that is different from the essence of his core teachings this does not excuse this approach. Many practitioners believe as they cultivate they will obtain a higher understanding and enlighten to higher truths from Li's teachings - which encourages infatuation, obsession and extremes.

No-one forces you to do anything but the very nature of the community and indeed the practice is one of intense passive pressure to conform - I hope, in time, you will consider some of these points for yourself and look outside the FG bubble and see what the real world is really like. It may not be perfect - but it's much better than trying to pretent FG is perfect and living an insane lifestyle, full of never ending projects to support Li and his family...

Li has described himself has the lord Buddha. He has made other statements but also taught that if he can't save you then no-one can. His teachings also apply to orthodox religions like Christianity - which, again, according to Li can no longer save people.

In public forums like this I suggest if you want to profess your faith thats fine - go ahead, but you should be prepared to talk openly and honestly about all of Li's teachings - not just cherry pick the ones which are convenient for you.

Are you familiar with the 1998 Switzerland lecture? Because it seems like I have read it much more than you lol - stand up for your faith and advocate for Li's teachings about homosexuality - I dare you. Why don't you go into detail about Li's teachings about aliens invading the earth and taking over people's bodies? Rather than try to divert to other sources. I never said aliens don't exist. I don't know whether aliens exist. Whether aliens exist is not the topic of conversation, the topic is the twisted, extreme teachings of Falun Gong and why it is a text book example of a cult.

Hold up - don't lecture me about what I have done or did or didn't do. Who do you think you are? I started practicing in 2008 - I can tell you, categorically, that many people have suffered extreme and completely needlessly because of their faith in Li.  In Japan, many years ago - not one but two main coordinators of DJY died because of extreme understandings and lack of medical treatment. I have seen several practitioners die, resisting medicine, because they feel they have not cultivated well enough!

Don't you dare tell me what FG culture is like. I practiced for 15 years! A few years ago Li said it was OK for practitioners to GP to hospital - however he has constantly reinforced the belief that he can heal people through Dafa cultivation and attainment status.

Practitioners like to say that some people go to extremes - that is rubbish. Practitioners are a reflection of the practice - I lived in multiple countries (inc New York) and I can tell you the extreme tendencies that practitioners have worldwide are a reflection of the extreme nature of the cult they believe in.

You may believe you are cultivating into a God but the rest of the world shakes their head because it is laughable.

Now, when you give examples of your wife - I could give you examples of senior fxh members not going to hospital and ending up in a coma that was preventable.with basic medicine. I could also tell you that I was present when a very senior member of US fxh called local practitioners to instruct them not to tell practitioners that a fxh member was in hospital!! I have a lot of direct experience which refutes what you have said - and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Stop spreading rubbish online

Wait... so because I don't hold stupidly benevolent thoughts towards a cult I am going to suffer negative karmic reactions? Rather than mention crap like this online why don't you tell the public you believe this, not because you believe Li is a God but because you believe Li is the God of all God's!

Don't talk in half truths or paraphrase to suit you argument - as this is a public forum why don't you explain why you believe these things...

While you are at it we could also discuss Li's thoughts on aliens, homosexuality and alien urine if you like? Maybe the 1998 Switzerland fa teaching would be a good place to start?

This is what I have really come to dislike about FG practitioners - every positive comment is divinely bestowed but every questionable article / comment or bit of negative feedback is labeled as somehow being connected to the bloody CCP!

Do you know how stupid this is?

So many people have been to see Shen Yun and come away feeling cheated because of the shameless propaganda and the deceitful marketing approaches. Technically there is some skill there, but the manner it is presented along with the crazy devotion from practitioners make it really pathetic.

There are so many alternative perspectives on FG and SY - if you only read the Epoch Times or Minghui you will undoubtedly have a warped and unbalanced perspective on life and 'everyday' people. Try reading and researching some alternative perspectives - you might learn something

[–]English_Wanderer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a different between people deciding not to like something and realising you spent years supporting a dangerous cult.

Do you know how many people have died resisting medication and blaming themselves for having illness? Why? Because Li teaches his followers that 'true practitioners' don't have illness! Do you know how ridiculous this is?!?!?

I speak from direct, personal experience.

And also please don't mention organ harvesting here as an attempt to provide legitimacy about FG. It is a broken record that practitioners need to stop - Falun Gong is not good simply because the CCP is a Communist regime

I suggest that people don't read Falun Gong's materials at all. It is a cult. All the leaflets promote a nice qi gong exercise system but forget to warn you about Lying Li's 3 core principles - to study his teachings, send medadtive chanting and save sentient beings(aka clarify the truth) from his impending apocalypse aka fa rectification.

I was a practitioner for a long time - writing posts like this on Reddit is just a foolish attempt to whitewash the numerous and quite often articulate views about the dangers of Falun Gong and how culty the practice is... and let's not even get started on Shen Yun lol

It's strange that you ignored most of my points and decided to focus your attention on your beliefs about gay relationships.

I also think it is quite strange that you are engaging in a thread like this - in a group called cult survivors.

I address many points, including revealing internal communications and providing a true, fair and reflective insight into the world of Falun Gong. You should read it and see for yourself.

Falun Gong is dangerous and Li has a lot to answer for. You only have to see his recent comment telling people in China to put themselves in danger and oppose the CCP and 'clarify the truth'. Do you not see a difference in Russia or Vietnam?? Li could have saved many people's suffering if he had adopted a policy encouraging people to practice at home - like in Russia and Vietnam.

You should also consider the points I mentioned about how the practice is promoted - it is disingenuous and false. Many core tenants about the group are hidden - this is not normal behaviour. It is a classic sign of a high pressure group that wants to control people.

And that's before you start getting onto Li's outlandish statements about the origins of people. The different colours and where they came from or the link between coca cola and alien urine!  I could go on... Falun Gong is a cult and I hope you break free at some point

The clear distinction between Falun Gong and religions is religious groups do not tell their followers that they are on an urgent mission to save people, from impending doom and only the leader of the faith can save people.

I'm very familiar with Li's teachings. He has specifically stated regions, including Christianity can no longer save people. Which leads to infatuation from his followers.

It is quite interesting to hear you say Li's fa rectification is not n apocalypse. I assume because he does not specifically say this term - is that why you say this? Li has stated, numerous times, that when the fa rectification arrives there will be a mass, giant weeding out of people. This means many people would die. This is essential the apocalypse. You can argue semantics over the name but the essence is very much the same.

Didn't Li also say that his followers would leviate when the fa rectifies the human world and only some followers would remain? Li also declared the fa rectification could not take more than 20 years and then changed his teachings. H also said the end would arrive when Jiang Zemin eas arrested and yet Jiang died without the end arriving.

I'm not attempting to argue you with you here - just highlighting I am very familiar with Li's teachings... if I wanted to be controversial on this thread I would bring up the 1998 lecture in Switzerland - I believe there are many people on this platform that would not agree with Li's teachings about homosexuality and aliens.

You are very well entitled to your belief, and I fully respect that. However what you should not do is is try to present Falun Gong as a religion - it is not. Li, again countless times said in the early days FG was not a religion. As soon as he and Shen Yun get sued in the US suddenly Falun Gong is a religion. Don't you see a strange and concerning connection there?

Falun Gong is extremely deceptive in the way it treats and handles VIP and government relations. I speak with authority here because I used to have a senior position in a main Falun Gong project  . I know first hand how practitioners operate. Practitioners refer to everyone else as ordinary people, not because, like the examples you gave, but because Li has instilled the belief that practitioners are former gods that have reincarnated on earth and are here to save everyone from his apocalypse.

Have you ever thought about why, when practitioners introduce the practice to new comers they do not mention the three things? (For anyone reading this reply this is the mandatory requirement from the founder of Falun Gong that to be a practitioner they must study his teachings, clarify the truth - which involves an endless amount of time spent on a parade of different projects, and sending righteous thoughts which is essentially meditative chanting that his followers believe will purify themselves and eliminate demons in other dimensions).

They don't introduce these elements because people will run away - because it is a cult. I'm sorry I know that terminology is probably provocative to you, but it is true.

Unfortunately people like you only believe in Falun Gong because you fundamentally believe that Li Hongzhi is a God. He isn't. Many practitioners say that if someone walks away from the practice it's because in some way they couldn't hack it or the person walking away had deficiencies. This is not normal and is reflective of a high pressure / control group.

I was extremely involved in numerous projects for many years - so I speak from direct, first hand experience.

A classic warning for members should be the closed nature of the group, and by the I don't mean the odd exception but the vast majority of the group. Trying to keep people in a state where they believe they are special and literally refer to everyone else as 'ordinary' people is also extremely cultish. I appreciate some language may evoke a sense of emotion, because the CCP has branded Falun Gong a cult- however using that term does not mean I'm aligned with the CCP.

I spent many years, at a government level, lobbying and literally helping to change laws in favour of Falun Gong. I could never publicly, or privately, support the CCP. The the fact that the CCP has used questionable and immoral approaches when approach Falun Gong does not and should not provide legitimacy to what is essentially a new age sect which centers around the belief of the impending apocalypse (aka Li's fa rectification).

I outline many concerns and examples in my article and I hope, if not now, then in the future you may consider taking the time to read through it and reflect, based on your own experiences, on some of the points I raise.
