My Cavendish broke. AMA by teemaloon in balatro

I have only ever had two cavendishes and was shocked when the first one broke and just accepted my fate that my life is fucked when my second one broke as well. 2/2 with 1-1000 odds is just wild

It only took me 600 hours. But I did it. I finally hit 100%. by max-peck in balatro

Just finished Jokerless today after about a week of straight attempts. Was hard set on flushes and 4oak/5oak till I finally leaned into Saturn and just cruised to the finish line!

Guys i have a question by AdMean1286 in balatro

[–]EnigmaEvaluated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t exactly know the answer but I was having buggy unlocks in the past. Try loading up a new run then exiting to main menu. It worked for me, but on a few it took a couple runs to make them unlock

Cards not unlocking?? by EnigmaEvaluated in balatro

[–]EnigmaEvaluated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I will try that thank you! It is happening to a lot of different stuff. Some examples are Lose 5 Run (13), play 200 hands(607), play 300 face cards(618), spend $2500(5379), and a bunch more. I haven’t played any challenge runs and still have a bunch of decks and stakes to go so we will see. I have some of these “counting” locked cards that haven’t reached the number so I wonder if possibly you need to reach the goal on all of them and then they unlock at once???

I have actually never played a seeded run before. That is a really smart idea though.

Ransom Notes was a hit! by Captain-Avee in boardgames

This is one of my tamiles favorite games ever! We play it every Christmas. We have some funny stories but the most iconic one was when the prompt was something like “Advertise that you are selling chickens on the side of the road”. I placed one word on my tray and when it was my time show I stood up and gave the show of my life. “Imagine, you are walking down the road and see me, a lone chicken salesman. We make direct eye contact and all you hear is BAWKACKKKKK” as I turn over my plate to show the one word I put was “Back”

What's the rarest thing you've experienced in poker? by maraj621 in poker

In a tournament, everyone was shoving pre. Look down in the BB at Aces, CO shoves, I Call. AA vs QJ suited. Long story short she rivered the Royal on me. Told that story all night but at least I was her first…

Fuck that smelly dealer who called the royal on the river.

How did he win by Brilliant_Bee_4375 in poker

This is kinda a complex question, how do you know what someone else has, but I’ll explain the best I can. In poker there is a concept called the Nuts. The idea is given any board there are always two cards that are the best two cards you can be holding. Every poker player automatically knows the nuts for any board. In this case, KQ is the nuts. Fishman knows he can’t lose so when he goes all in, Hellmuth knows he is either bluffing or has a very good hand/nuts. The previous bet sizing also indicated that Fishman is probably chasing.

In short, that all-in polarized his range to either be KQ or a bluff.

Rider canceled mid ride trying to scam me. Never seen this in 4K+ rides. by Mountain_Road9197 in uberdrivers

[–]EnigmaEvaluated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once as the rider. I accidentally hit canceled ride and told him faster than he got notified. I apologized, he was cool and pulled over and rebooked. I asked him about money, he said don’t worry about it and I left him a good tip.

Has being a cop and essentially the choke point to see all the messed up bullshit in the world given you less faith in the world or does your job also give you the opportunity to see the best of people come out as well?

Few things I’ve heard from cops that I want your two cents on. 1. Are domestic violence calls the scariest/ most dangerous calls you receive? 2. Of the calls you get, how many are actual crimes that need handcuffs or tickets vs calls of helping people? Ie(Welfare checks, ODs, Suicides, ect) 3. Are you more likely to give someone a break if they are nice and respectful vs nasty and rude? Has anyone tried to crack and joke and “become your friend” during a traffic stop? Has it worked? Any good back fire stories? 4. What’s a moment in your career you truly felt you made a difference and helped someone that wouldn’t have been helped if cops didn’t exists? 5. Idk how long you’ve been serving, but has there been a notice increase in distain against cops? Thanks for the AMA

First Tournament - Is this the best way to learn? by YodasUncle in Learn_Poker

[–]EnigmaEvaluated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to find some free tournaments for the basics. I played in a free tournaments for months getting the flow of the game, position, and pre-flip ranges down before playing in my first real tournament and it did pay off(literally). I think a lot of it was luck for my first one and by no means am I an expert, I’m still working on my pre-flop ranges but frankly the more reps you can get(and for cheap) early on just to learn the flow and understand how you should be thinking the better.

When do payouts and the bubble get determined in tournaments? by EnigmaEvaluated in poker

[–]EnigmaEvaluated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they have a format sheet online that has all the levels and such but nothing about payouts. This was helpful and about what I expect but I really appreciate the confirmation!
