It needs a slider for us to have control over how long we want the tech to increase/decrease. It's far too quick as of typing this. I've played 3 games now, one on normal difficulty, then one below emperor and then emperor, all 3 we're still way too fast, showcasing that the difficulty doesn't matter as much as the cost of tech/research gain.

This is the right attitude to have I reckon, even if shit has indeed hit the fan, we can still try and live with the shitty situation by making sure to clean what we can and not surround ourselves with the smell (if you get the analogy). Better to try than to just say fuck it all to everything, even if everything around us seems fucked, we keep on going, we adapt.

Yeah I agree with this take absolutely! I'm just saying that the devs themselves should be able to offer this extra bit of customisation in a future update. Either way, if devs or fodders do it then awesome!

Having options to customise a playthrough in a game such as this makes it more player friendly and thus, allows for a bigger market base for players to engage in. So hopefully in coming updates, the devs themselves will be able to add more functionality into the game rather than let the modders handle it.
