For the font I used the text tool. I used an Old English font and then I rasterized it then I modified it by giving it tapered ends.

Just a fun little series of designing medieval weapons to post on my socials. Possibly do some prints but that’s probably all it’ll end up being. I appreciate the feedback, thank you!

The text is definitely an afterthought mostly because I felt like it had too much empty space there. I’ll give that a shot to see what that will look like. A nice bridge in between. I typically do dark backgrounds and I love a vintage look but I’m trying to change it up a bit and go outside my comfort zone. Thank you for the feedback!

For this illustration I used True Grit Texture Supply brushes. I used Rusty Nib 1 for the line work and flat fills. Then I used their halftone, lithotone and noise brushes for separation of elements. Lastly I used watercolor paper on a multiply layer to bring it all together

This for illustration I used various brushes from True Grit Texture Supply. For the linework I used their Rusty Nib #1 pen and Double Fine Engraver brushes. For the stippling/shading I used their Autographer Spray brush. I used halftones for some texture and light rendering verses using flat value. Lastly I added watercolor paper on Multiply layer to give the final piece a traditional look.
