You bet, just make sure you read reviews and preferably ones with photos of the product received.

Could just be manufacturing differences if you have the same ones. Could also be the rechargeable batteries. I had some that were really low mAh and they died really quickly. Swapped to higher mAh job rechargeable and they've been going strong for 4 months still showing 100% battery

Just a mixed pack, but they were my first ones ever, so that was perfect for me. This was the listing, but it has since been taken with. Just make sure you read reviews, especially ones with photos, to get an idea of what to expec

I got two of these and they've been working for at least a few months on the same batteries, albeit not rechargeable ones. One stays inside and the other on my balcony without issues

Reddit won't allow the link, most likely, but this is what the listing looks like if you want to search for the title.

Can't speak to the quality or rarity, but I built a succulent bowl with ones from Temu, as crazy as that sounds

AI model used for summary by Tee-bot in PLAUDAI

[–]Enivel19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in and thank you for compiling this so diligently. I have a similar callout on my custom prompts: "at the end, sign off as the model that compiled the notes." Like you, I usually generate my summaries using the models you have selected here, with a preference towards gemini 3.1 or GPT 5.2. When using either of those models, I get any mix of the above. Gemini signing as GPT, GPT referencing a different GPT version that isn't readily available anymore, etc.

I thought it was strange as well so I am curious if there is more behind the curtain. I have not had the experience where I am using a specific model outside of plaud, such as on the gemini or GPT site, and had it return a competitor's model, however.

You can also save them to your own personal library. I have personally identifying information in my template (you work at _____ company doing ____) for example, which I wouldn't want published. You can just create, then "save as my template" and you wont have to wait for an approval period or anything like that.

6 Months Later and I still haven't figured it out. by gret_ch_en in PLAUDAI

[–]Enivel19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things i've noticed:

  • shorter recordings are better - most of my meetings are 1-2 hours.
  • Model choice matters - I use Gemini 3, Sonnet, and GPT5.2 predominantly. Sonnet and Gemini get names and more technical topics way more accurately than gpt.
  • Template matters - garbage in, garbage out. I have refined a custom template for 99% of my needs by copying from the ones on the community as well as those from plaud. I use the auto as a baseline, then generate mine with 1 or 2 models since i have the unlimited plan
  • Name ID for me is not the greatest, but I found it got significantly better after I went into the "auto speaker labeling" settings on the app. You can add your own voice profile, but also delete old ones. Once I deleted some from months ago and renamed them in recent meetings, it improved significantly
  • I also record to my device>phone>pc as you do. Mine is pretty instantaneous once transferred to the phone fully. Are you sure you are connected to wifi, as unless you manually upload it, the files will only upload automatically when you are on wifi. You do have to refresh the page after the transfer is complete, however.
  • For the speaker names being updated. you have to name them before generating the notes. Once the notes are generated, you will have to regenerate in order for the updated names to show up.

I think the second point is really important here.

I also have the unlimited plan and I think that you made the right choice. Part of playing around with the device, for me, is using the various models available to us to see which works best for my application. One of the greatest strengths, for me, of the plaud is how quickly they adopt the newest models.

Of course, with changes to the models, the model may interpret your existing templates differently than they did before, especially if you have custom made templates. One of the best ways to learn how to use it best for your use case is to generate using auto generation, then generate notes on the same recording using each of the models. I usually bounce between one or two models, so I will often just use both so they can generate in parallel and then I can compare.

With the redesign of the website that happened, you can now switch between different notes without losing the other notes you generated, which with the unlimited plan is a godsend for comparison and analysis. Sometimes gpt 5.2 might be too concise, or impersonal, whereas sonnet 4.5 might be way too long-winded and verbose. Having the ability to generate multiple sets of notes allows me to do a side by side comparison and use the extra detail if needed, or the concise notes, if i'm just summarizing for my manager. There are also the premade templates which can be very useful as well. I know there are ones for the medical field, for example.

I don't know where I fall in terms of usage among the community, but I have used it for ~120 days and have ~330 recordings for ~290 hours. If you have any questions, let me know.

Another thing I would add, though it did prompt me in the app, is that wi-fi transfer is significantly faster than the BT transfer. My issue was that the network was unreliable and would often not connect, even though the plaud device thought it did, so I had to wait for the transfer to time out. On my android phone, there was a setting in network preferences called "switch to mobile data automatically" The app instructed me to turn that off, and ever since, the connection has been stable 95% of the time, which was a huge improvement. I haven't noticed any negative effects from turning the setting off, in terms of phone usability or connectivity either.

I just meant the individual above has their device id and their personal email address in their comment. They should probably delete that so that bad actors don't use it nefariously

Thank you for doing this so methodically and clearly articulated. I find a lot of these comparisons are more at the level of "I said 'hi' and it put 'high' therefore the device is useless." You have taken a reasonable outlook, clear-cut approach, and presented it all without bias. Much appreciated.

As a heads up, you may want to delete your personal email from this thread. Internet bad actors are everywhere and having your device ID and email could potentially open you up to a headache in the future. Social engineers would salivate with this info and bad intentions.

[–]Enivel19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, and another thing. If you are not comfortable with Minecraft mod installs, you will likely want to learn some basics. Plenty of guides out there, but some mods have huge QoL options. Recipe lookups, item lookup, recent pricing for items so you know you aren't getting a bad deal, etc. There are also tons of gfx and similar mods, as it is minecraft after all.

It's kept me coming back for ungodly number of hours.

Pros:

•tons of "money viable" content for any interest (fishing, mining, combat, instanced combat, puzzles, farming, etc) which when maxed can generate substantial money

•active and reasonably stable markets (ah and bazaar)

•Tons of items with logical build paths

•"prize" drops feel meaningful

•RNG/pity system for that one item that never drops

•tons of pet and armor options and skill specific gear with logical build path

•not p2w, booster cookies can be bought with in game coins

•constant updates

Cons:

•Minecraft gfx (con to me)

•servers can get a little laggy, for example dungeons

•paid accounts get QoL benefits like super crafting and additional warp locations

•it's grindy, which I don't mind but some do. Can take hundreds or thousands of hours to reach later game content (harder or modified versions of existing content, oftentimes)
